Sid Meier's Civilization V
Civ5 is old, I'm old, most comments here are old. Hopefully it will be on GoG soon.
please please please.... just... one... more... turn
I've lost hope. Would still buy it without a second thought though.
yes 1+
Waiting for Civilization 5 to add on GoG. Not sure why they postponed for soooo long
Would love to play this game via the off-line installer on my site laptop. It has amazing mods, none of the dumb graphics (gameplay, loss of imersion, etc) of Civ6, and all the optimizations that improved on Civ4. Civ4 still amazing, but for a casual like me, Civ5 great.
I want to add my vote for GOG to get this. I was actually searching for it tonight to purchase it and was shocked when I couldn't find it.
Было б неплохо добавить Civ5, тем более давно выпущена.
Civ V will be 11 years old next week. Hopefully it'll come to GOG soon!
Heres to hoping CIV VI will comes to GOG! I wont buy the game on any other platform!
I'm playing Civ 4 with my son and purchased it on GOG for a great deal so I don't need the disc. Once we beat the game, I promised CIV V. I have the case, discs, manuals already, but would enjoy the convenience of not needing physical media.
This is an obvious choice for GOG, since it improved so much on Civ4 (which is already available here).
Absodamnlutely! I am craving this iteration. GOG, PLEASE buy the rights to this game.
Best game ever made. Bought on steam, willing to buy again. Civ 3 and 4 have already long since been brought here I don't get why they can't get civ 5.
Steam was the Reason I never had a Look on this Game.
So, Yeah GOG,do what you can, to bring it here without DRM.
This would be great!
This is a no brainer: I'd buy from GOG long before I rent from Steam. What's the magic threshold of buyers to bring Civ5 here, guys?
Give me a target number and I'll mobilise friends and minions to support the vote.
PLEASE bring this to gog!
I would buy it if it comes on GOG, but I suppose it won't anytime soon, and by the time it comes I won't be interested any more, but I vote anyway
hey almost 2k votes, neat
I'd buy it right away too, if sold on GOG
Can't run it on Steam anymore so I wish GOG would give it a go
+1
I second this idea! The day it comes out I will insta-buy :)
I saw this game early on descount i swear....i regret about not buying it right there.
I agree, own it on steam but do not want that DRM anymore.
I already own it on Steam, but would love to buy it free of DRM on GOG. Let's get er coming, Mike!
I'd like to buy it again on GOG.
I am also curious why Civ 5 (and 6, for that matter) aren't on GOG...really weird. My guess is it's a licensing thing, which would be a shitty reason to keep it from those who prefer GOG as a PC platform.
wtf, why isnt this on gog?
I'd like to comment on bringing this to GOG please!
Will never buy a game on Steam again. The last year i buyed only on GOG, because its really buying a game and not just rent a game like on steam. if steam would go bankrupt youcould not use the games anymore. But the games on GOG are yours. Thats why i am not buyed CIV 6 on Steam or elsewhere. I really want, but i would only buy on GOG DRM Free.
And CIV 5 i would buy again too.
CIV 5 on GOG and DRM free would sell great and i'm sure it will be here in a couple of time. i have it already and would buy it on GOG again DRM Free, because Steam sucks
I would totally love this game on GOG as it would be great to have DRM free
Yes, CIV 5 should be here on Gog, Tropico 5 is here already, why CIV 5 is missing ??? Come on Gog, list it please
Another point to counter the "only on Steam argument", is that Civ and all of its DLC is available on the Mac App Store. However, I beleive that multiplayer may be disabled or only available between Mac players using Mac App Store versions. If Firaxis/2K can sell it on Mac App Store there is no technical reason why it can't on GOG.
My favourite game for the last few years (with Brave New World DLC). I understand from the other comments that it requires Steam for multiplayer. Personally I have never played a Civ game on multiplayer. I would be more than happy to have a single player crippled version of Civ V with Brave New World if that were possible. Frankly if GOG got Civ V I'd leave steam completely.
would*
They could probably have to make it GOG Galaxy exlusive to work...
It ALL needs to come here. All the X-Packs, DLCs, everything. I gave up thousands of hours on Steam after almost 6 years. I came here. Civ 5 + all DLCs needs to be here and it's WAY overdue.
The base version of Civ5 had Gamespy as multiplayer matchmaker. So it would not be impossible to make a GoG-based matchmaker (a GoG client is in the works) or using direct IP connectivity.
Civ V requires steam DRM to work. The only way GOG could sell this is if Firaxis came up with some alternative to steam for multiplayer.
P.S. gog, please do not sell games that integrate steam into it like Civ V; fight to have steam client removed instead (and then sell it).
Ah, I was wondering why one of the best strategy games seemed so locked out. That sucks hard.
I'm playing the pirate version would buy it in a heart beat if it was DRM Free and was the complete set with the incoming expansion which seems to improve the diplomacy which is completely broke in CIV V .
Any game that specifically relies on the Steamcloud for it's logins, membership, stats, ahcievements etc will not be on GOG.com until it has fallen out of popularity so much that Valve remove it from the Steamcloud and the publisher (Firaxis in this case) has it patched for singleplayer only.
This isn't going to happen. I'm voting anyway, but it's not going to happen. It's not that it's a new game- gog hasn't stood for "good old games" for a while now, but as has been said, it's tightly integrated with steam.
I would buy it on gog. I did not buy it so far due to Steam.
Maybe 10 or 20 years down the road, but it's still too new in my opinion. Also, it's on Steam, so it probably shouldn't be a priority.
Civ5 released in 2010 is not an old game. Also all sales were completely restricted to Steam users = DRM; so GOG.com cannot distribute it without the publisher unlocking the product.
