Megacyclo Also I played SS2 on both PC and XBox and it's a good game with insane weapon designs and some cool large-scale battles and levels, it deserves a spot in GOG's catalog.
Megacyclo Apparently Croteam thinks GOG is not a big enough market to justify makind DRM-free builds of their older games.
bluntly speaking we're not a big enough market is Steam has enough suckers who accept invasive DRM, it seems.
I still think this linbe of reasoning is absolute bull and makes no sense.
I know studios have been making the DRM an integral part of the code (see SS3BFE) but did it really work as planned or did it just punish the paying players more than the cheaters?
SS2's DRM had malware behaviour, I remember the awful times of SecuROM and StarForce, remember the server-based control for solo games like the Prince of Persia Movie game or Assassin's Creed II.
DRM only ever punished the loyal buyer, it's a purely losing battle...

KnossosDomovoi I wonder what's keeping this game from coming to GoG, considering that other Serious Sam games almost as old are already here. It could be some weird legal rights entanglements or rather they're just having trouble getting rid of the heavy DRM system that was present in the original release.
syberkozi Ok, I grew up on Doom and Duke Nukem. But this installment in particular was the most fun I had ever on any FPS. I'd reccomend any Doom/Quake and Duke Nukem fan to check this one out because it's a serious contender. Seriously.
TheBigCore The physical release of this game in particular had very nasty DRM on it that acted like malware. It installed all kinds of hidden running processes. If there were ever a game that needed a DRM-free release, it's this one.

Tobibrocki Yes, GOG needs Serious Sam 2, having played the Demo of it I would really like to buy it here without any annoying Steamworks stuff.
Not sure how the Multiplayer would work though since GameSpy has shut down now, maybe the Developer can help out with a small patch, they seem to be doing that with the Steam release so maybe the GOG version could get something along thiose lines too?

Skunk I'm going to assume that was a typo. Nobody WANTS Steamworks, we're just forced to put up with it. If we wanted Steamworks, we wouldn't be asking for it on GOG, we'd simply buy it on Steam.
