Rising Kingdoms
It's already on steam for free, but I would pay money to get it on GOG
+1
Yes add this game please
I really want to play this again. I remember having the CD as a kid and playing through most of the campaigns even though there was no audio on the units (some weird translation decision). I can see that Steam has added it but I'm holding off on buying it there so that I can get it on GOG. Definitely feels like a GOG title.
Old-style strategy games can never be too much on the gog.
I would LOVE that game to come to GOG! It is one of the most beautiful handcrafted 2D strategy games!
I'd love to see this come out on gog - with a Mac and Linux version as well.
Would like this game on GOG, so I can boost my Haemimont Games' game collection :)
In July, a developer on Steam discussion board said that they are "considering a GOG release at a later date, too. "
Ah, thanks for pointing it out gerbercage!
YES! I would definitely want it on GOG now when it got re-released on Steam. Instabuy.
Finally 24-July on steam.
Yes.
I vote to have this game available on GOG. I would definitely buy it.

for the 1.20 patch. The link I provided in the last comment was messed up!
I managed to get it working on Windows 10, I installed the Game (using my 2 Discs), Set them up so they ran in compatibility mode (Windows XP) The game wouldn't even open. So I then went to: www.moddb.com/games/rising-kingdoms ))))) Downloaded Patch 1.20. Installed the patch and hey presto. Hope you can play after this too. - I've tried to play multiple times over the years can't believe I can finally play it!
I own the boxed copy. The only thing is I've only gotten it to run on my old single core emachine laptop running Windows 7 64bit. My desktop won't run it. I tried everything including a DEP inclusion and still won't run. What a great game though.
Beautiful RTS, very thematic and immersive, great ideas
Great RTS with beautiful visuals and soundtrack. It definitely stands out with it's unique style IMO. A real shame that you can't buy a digital copy of this game anywhere nowadays. I would very much love to see it here, it's a real gem.
great game
if I recall correctly the last version is 1.4
there's also a mod in some Russian website
great game, i have the cd but doesn't work on windows 10
I don't know how an amazing game is still not in GOG
One of the last "good old games", released in 2005. Certainly has its flaws, but the feeling of playing a classic you've spent hours and hours in the 90s is there. It's also one of the best-looking 2D games I've ever played. The graphics are detailed and charming. I remember visiting a local CD store and seeing one of the salesmen playing Rising Kingdoms on a big screen. I immediately knew I couldn't miss a game that looked so beautiful. Being a "graphics don't matter, gameplay first" adherent, that was a unique case for me.
In terms of gameplay RK a rather standard RTS, but the ideas borrowed from other games of the genre are well implemented. One of the most interesting concepts is a neutral settlement - several can be usually found in skirmish and multiplayer. Each settlement is guarded by units you have to defeat in order to make the buildings yours. After a while, the buildings start producing uncontrollable allies as well as units you can buy and directly control yourself. We've seen a similar system in WarCraft 3, but here, rather than irregular hirelings, units acquired in settlements become a really important part of your army, vital for having an advantage over the enemy.
I hope one day the game will get enough for the GOG guys to consider it a promising addition to the games library. It's a real shame a title like this remains obscure and overlooked.
Brightest RTS!
I really would like to see this one on GOG. It's for sure less known title than Celtic Kings or Nemesis of Roman Empire (all three of them are basing on similar engine, as far as I know), but it's my favourite one! And so incredibly enjoyable! To be honest, I've never finished any of campaigns in Celtic Kings, but I've ended all 3 in Rising Kingdoms - somehow it was more interesting game for me than Celtic Kings (of course I'm not telling that CK is bad!).
great game
I love this game and want this game release out on GOG. Best RPG/RTS game I played on 13 years old DELL computer running Windows XP, but game rarely crash to kick me out to desktop again, again. Hope GOG can found out and fix it then release out.
It's a amazing game. Well balanced strategy, creative races and abilities, hero's are one of a kind and the 2d graphics are extremely detailed. For how good it is its hard to believe more people don't know about it. If GoG got this game I think word would spread how great a game it is.
Great game.I hope it will be on gog soon
no one knows about it... yet another fun game
Would love to have this great game on gog.
That is a very good game, for me, better than warcraft 2
