EOakford On second thought, it turns out HMH sold its Books & Media division to HarperCollins. So the rights to the MECC, Learning Company, and Broderbund franchises are now under HarperCollins. Would THEY be interested?
EOakford I've been getting these games off eBay and working on getting them to run on Windows 11. I got the original and Deluxe versions from OTII 25th Anniversary Edition. Since they're DOS games, they'll run in DOSBox. There is also a Windows 95 version that works quite well on Windows 11. Would Houghton Mifflin Harcourt be interested in licensing classic games for digital storefronts? I can help get the games to work.
##@@##@@ I would love this game to come to GOG not just because my current copy does not work on my current pc but also becuase the cd copy my family had growing up never worked well to begin with so I missed out on the chance to play it at all in the first place.

kathrynbne PLEASE I loved all TLC games as a kid and now I want my children to learn from them but they don't work on 64 bit machines! I agree with everyone here saying all the Oregon Trail games were something we definitely expected to see when we came to GOG.

lumpylo Oregon Trail should be a shoo-in. It hardly gets more classic. I would mainly like the Deluxe version, but I figured I'd vote for this post as it has the numbers.

Sturleson I remember playing green screen Oregon Trail on an apple in school, in 5th(?) grade. The whole series was good, more educational than you'd expect, though frankly I'd want Oregon Trail 2 more. There is almost an entire generation that remembers this as their first computer game, so if you want to be the definitive place for good, old games......

BigNasty878 This game... I remember, but it was so very long ago. Let's see, from what i can remember (which isn't much...lol), I played this back in elementry school. I think it was for computer studies. I remember that we had to avoid boulders while trying to cross rivers and we had to buy ammunition of the hunting rifle to hunt buffalo. I think you could hunt deer and rabbits too, but again... it was a VERY long time ago! I feel so ancient, ha! XD Anyways, I remember that you had to buy all sorts of supplies (veterans correct me if I'm wrong) such as spare wagon wheels, food, and the fore mentioned ammo. Every choice had it's pros and cons, which could either save your life or take it. Please GOG, bring this Good Old Game classic from my early childhood back, and help the younger generation learn that food doesn't just "materialize" on a shelf in a grocery store. Do it for the sake of EVERYONE here! :D

Lady_Salvia I can't believe how few votes this wish has! The Oregon Trail is the very embodiment of a Good Old Game. If GOG doesn't revive it, how will my children learn how to hunt buffalo? When to ford a river and when to caulk the wagon and float it across? How (not) to die of cholera?
KOCollins I too wish to see Timmy's tombstone after he succumbed to some terrible disease just 30 miles short of journey's end. Do it for Timmy GOG, do it for Timmy's parents, his dad Jim, the incompetent doctor, and his mom Sarah, who nagged Jim the whole trip. Finally, do it for Big-Tom, the last surviving oxen that somehow carried them all the way from the Rockies on a diet of rocks and Jim's whip.

ErekoseDM i loved this game. the hunting for food. fording rivers ^_^. wasnt there a trade element while on the trail as well? not just upgrading/fixing the caravan GOG would love to see this show up here.

h2o_ns Just had to add a post here agreeing with Pahirate, this was a big part of growing up for a lot of 80's & 90's kids and one of the first games most of us played. Its just a lovely, fun way to spend some time, my brothers and I spent hours on end playing this game and we loved every minute of it. One of the all-time classics that deserves the GOG treatment!
pahirate Really? Who doesn't love Oregon Trail? It was an important part of most people's youth and in some cases, the first game ever played. GOG needs this game so more people can die of pneumonia.
