Charodiy_UA Great Game (Original version - 2010), recently I made it work on My PC and I can say that it is much-much-much better than the Redux version in terms of character models, fear atmosphere, and even some art design. gog co. really fucked up that it cannot bring Original Metro 2033 to the gog store!
Charodiy_UA The Best way to understand the difference between the 2 versions of the Metro 2033 games - is to play Original Metro 2033 and after that complete Metro 2033 Redux! Unfortunately, GoG gamers don't have the option to download and play the Original version of the Game, so it is better to watch different playthroughs and that video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8aRC65oUn8). I remember some moments of the Original Game that I played about 8 years ago. Must say, that Original Metro 2033 has better (in style aspect) NPCs models, and atmosphere (those dark corridors were so scary, but the modern version doesn't try to scare you so much). I don't know why the Original Metro 2033 is not available in the Gog store, but it is a minus that Gog team can fix. They need only one thing to ask Developers to add the Original version of the Metro 2033 to the Gog store.
Charodiy_UA There was no Original Metro 2033 in the Gog store as I remember, but I want it to be available in my library (yes, I have Metro Redux)! In some aspects like most of the character models, some weapon models, and effects Metro 2033 Original is much-much better, I can confirm that and I think other gamers can support me.
Android9909 Metro 2033 Redux is absolute garbage compared to the Original Version and the publisher knows this, this is the reason why the original Metro 2033 masterpiece was removed and replaced with junk. Hopefully gog can bring the Original Metro 2033 masterpiece back.

DuneRunner Metro 2033 was Free on Steam till March 15th 2021 and I had not heard of this. Please make this the same for here on GOG, anyone who bought Metro 2033 Redux should automatically get it for Free. The same deal Steam had this week the same GOG should have here

tfishell Well, GOG is being more flexible about completing wishes for originals vs remasters/"redux" games, but maybe this one should remain un-completed.
The-Low-Cost-One Metro 2033 definitely deserves a place here on GOG. It is very different in both good and bad ways to the Redux version, and as much as it annoyed me when I played it, I cannot bring myself to dislike it.
Shadowhawk668 One majorly important thing about GOG is that it doesn't just exist as a platform for selling games, but also for archiving them. At the moment, there is no way of buying the original Metro 2033 digitally, meaning there is only a finite number of copies around and with no update support. This game should be added regardless of how good the Redux version is, as they are still two distinctly different games and both have the right to be preserved.

lexluthermiester This should be marked "Complete". Regardless of the complaints about how Redux is not as good as the original, which I say is total nonsense, Redux is an enhancement if the original and makes it redundant.

mcgeehe This will never happen. So I'm just going to start keeping an eye out for a nice 2033 Redux sale. It's very irritating too that I bought LL Redux from GOG on good faith that they would also add 2033 Redux, but that's obviously never going to happen.

The Redux looka as good as Last Light, and the story very much goes before Last Light, so it makes no sense not to play it first.

MichiGen I would buy this DRM-Free from GOG for 20$ (even when it was at least 3 times for 2.50€ on steam) without any hesitate. Just make sure to bring soundtrack and a lot of artworks with it :D please bring this game here. Make it happen
