reallysofthug Would love to actually have a no hassle version of this game working in my GOG library. I know licensing is probably the most confusing , ridiculous thing in the world, but would love to throw some money at someone for an easy to use launcher and interest in the franchise. Actual HOTAS support would be the icing.

Please note, these games are 30yo, and some copies of there are corrupt. I played through one copy of Titanium with only one notable glitch in the last mission of gbl (hole didn't open) which probably means that mission was corrupt in a non fatal way.
It hasn't been tested with every version. There are about 40 releases.
I recommend Titanium since it's been tested through.
You're mostly on your own with others. They should work, but might not.

JMJFSHS A favorite among the baby boomer generation and well missed. I see more and more interest in reviving this game with each passing year. I think it's popularity will surprise you. Finding the most popular version may be the biggest challenge. Well worth the effort in my opinion.

rejzor I want the Pentium Edition that I still have. I want the high resolution software rendering, not 3dfx acceleration. It's much more gritty and just has a better feel and it's native Windows game iirc. It just doesn't work on modern Windows unfortunately...

Knightcrawler I'm kind of shocked this isn't here. Sure, I have my old CD-ROMs, but I want to be able to play it more easily, and the various versions. Heck, I'd love to play the *origina* Virtual World BattleTech, too.
The_Bear_58 Really miss the Mechwarrior Games one of my all time faves Mechwarrior 2 was the best lets not pass by an oportunity to get this happening.
Piranha have really made the game a cash cow with their online version.

Hanneth I think finding the 3Dfx accelerated version would be quite easy. Especially because I have it. I keep it in my CD collection. Hey, I like the music, even ripped the CD tracks to MP3 to listed to it anywhere. It is legal to do that in Canada.
Probably most of the work would be figuring out which Glide wrapper to use with what settings.

Cyker Yes! The original DOS versions, the buggy as heck but 3D accelerated Titanium Edition ones and, if you want a challenge, finding the 3Dfx accelerated version!
zinda a classic. the underwater missions where especially cool with torpedoes and stuff. wow. 7km arrowheads ftw!
