Jurassic Park : Trespasser
Yes, YES, YEES! Please GOG.
This game looks great, I would absolutely buy it
Need this, will definitely buy when available on GOG
i will buy this for sure whenever they can add this
HL2 was the awsomest games of all time, and they braged about their physics! But here we have the grandfather of physics! Trespasser! It was janky, it was buggy, but everyone who played it knew it was next-level shit even though it didn't work as intended!
Well it worked it's way into our hearts!
I'll buy, for sure.
Trespasser was revolutionary at the peak of total risk, but today with the indie insdustry fame misunderstood works as this can be well received
OMG please i so wanna buy this game
Make it happen!! :-)
This game is one of my most requested. I played the demo up and down from a PC magazine. Unfortunately, I was a poor student at the time and was never able to buy the full version. I've wanted to do this for years and make a dream come true. I love this game, even though the controls were very buggy back then. But that's also what makes it so unique and the atmosphere was awesome.
awesome very special. Sure overambitioned but still
What a wonderful game! Ground-breaking tech for it's time and a real gem for any JP fan. Pity it has such a bad reputation. Though I do wonder how many peeps actually played it. Almost time for me to replay it again. :) Richard Attenborough's narrations -Best!
Love this game. It's old, clunky, slow with weird but fun Physics. And that's why i love it. BRING IT!
I would get it right away, but when I put the phrase "tresspasser gog" I expected this... I think the biggest issue is that it is attached to a Jurasic Park franchise. An old game, that was developed for a movie - and it failed. Bringing any attention to it now is probably not in their interest - or - the price could be ridiculous, especially if it is still connected to other rights that have expired by now. I think you can safely bet on abandonware, because I think that sooner a paper dog would catch an asbestos cat in hell, than this getting a re-release. By likes alone, this would make 26 583,39 USD, if the price would be 9.99 USD. Hoping I am wrong though, so a +1 from me.
Trespasser is many things. What It isn't is a successful game. But in its broken state it is also an endearing what-if that might actually have been a bit more successful if released today (and with less obvious flaws). Instead of an action-filled puzzle game that was promised on the box the game can best be described as a walking simulator with the occasionally frustrating soap-box physics puzzles, and awkward pot shots at an angry velociraptor. But with a story that drives you onwards out of curiosity and top north voice acting. More "Everyones Gone to Rapture" with dinosaurs than first person Tomb Raider.
It clearly had more ambition than it had time. The teams was made up of talented members with high goals but lacking game development experience and time. What should have been a tour de force in A.I., physics, and graphical fidelity was hampered by shifting hardware landscapes, meaning the game engine had to be restructured far along development for hardware rendering, and basic design decisions that would haunt them.
The physics model underpinning the entire game experience ended up being a dead end as it works on the penalty method, which while outstanding for soft-body physics, meant that any interaction with the physics objects resulted in an instant destabilisation were they would would impart energy on each other. Carefully stack boxes became soap (or worse) once touched. On the other hand the physics engine allowed physics based sound and animation as well. Which scared the shit out of me as a velociraptors snarl echoed through an empty building to where I stood. Sadly the physics trouble led to the scrapping of several impressive looking levels such as Pine Valley showcased during development as physics objects fought amongst themselves to destruction.
The A.I. system was also as groundbreaking as it was broken. Animals would be governed by hunger, thirst, etc. But it ended up in various loops where dinosaurs eventually stopped moving from indecision. All animals were therefore given either maximum calm or hungry/angry behaviour and locked. One omission being a velociraptor on a ravine level, which will follow you around curiously.
Graphically the game was, sort of, striking. The software renderer had bump-mapping on almost all objects and physics based water simulation created through animating a texture on the fly, it also used stencil shadows for all physics based objects. Implementing the hardware renderer was difficult however. While it added texture-filtering it also ruined textures that been made specifically with software rendering in mind. Text needed for puzzles became largely illegible. It also ran worse in hardware mode than in software. Bringing bleeding edge systems to their knees. Systems that, at the point of the games delayed release, could play Unreal and Quake with settings that made many a kid cry with jealousy of their more well off friends.
I therefore humbly submit that Trespasser deserves preservation and should be made playable for future generations. Perhaps even restored to the creators original vision.
Please please please
This game gets bashed so much. Never understood why. graphically it looked incredible back in the day (in terms of fidelity) and to this day it never lost that sense of wonder, atmosphere and adventure.
It genuinely made less of an impact on me that the physics gameplay HL2 game !6! years later came up with that pretty much everyone make it out to be.
Brings this to GOG so hiveminded players can actually judge for themselves instead of judging it based on a yt video with its soul purpose to make fun of the product.
Please GOG, bring this one happen!
This would be instabuy for me.
Still hoping for it to happen.
Not only classic version would be cool to get, but I think this game could get some VR port one day. :)
i need this game. please make this happen GOG
Trespasser is a beatiful game !
Please GOG, bring this one happen!
If for some Godly reason this piece of shit comes on Gog. I'll have to buy the game and make a review on how shit it is. Not kidding.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand?
I want to try this game again, we have the supercomputers necessary to run it now
The health meter is gloriously spectacular. The gameplay is worth looking at too.
If you have the original game, there is a patch to make it work on windows 10 (able to launch it and have widescreen)
I still have my original copy but I would not mind buying this again from GOG. So I can play it on Windows 10 64 bit.
Guys, please do it!!
I keep praying... and I keep waiting... PLEASE make this happen!
this game is shit
but i want to buy it
100% instant buy from my part once it's available here.
Come on guys, keep voting please.
All the big Dino Channels on YouTube seem to promoting this game. TheGamingBeaver and ClaytornFioriti both played and loved this game. This gem was way ahead of it's time for people to appreciate it.
It's also worth noting, that only 50,000 copies were ever sold, and there definitely aren't that many around anymore. Having the game also on GoG wouldn't be just about more being able to experience it, it would be also about preserving it when the amount of remaining physics copies keep dwindling.

GoG please add it at last!!!
I have been thinking on this game lately, i have the cd but its at my parents place and i always forget it. I was thinking that maybe GOG had it and id prefer to have the game online aswell - its an awesome game that should be very welcomed by gamers on GOG.
I've been dying to try and be able to get this game. Please please GOG please!
We need this. :3
I'll buy it 100% on GOG! =)
Do it!
A release of this on GOG would be good a Re release WITH VR options would make it even better
This game is originally DRM free and with some easy tweaks and edits can be run without a disc really easy.
Until a day we (hopefully) see this digitally, visit trescom.org (and its forum) for all your Trespasser needs (and requests) ;)
I played this like 3 years ago, is very good and very bad at the same time... i can't explain. Some good mechanics but horribly implemented... very well detailed dinosaurs for the time it was released but also very little diversity. But just being able to roam free in the island was awesome! visiting Hammond office and house was great too. I really loved this game and would buy it on GoG.
dying to play this game, c'mon GOG get with the program
Perfect fit for a GOG re-release.
I have the original game here in a bigbox, but i want a running digital version. so pleaese gogo make it happen!
I'm sure this blast from the past would make loads of gamers happy!
