GOG used to offer the Addon-less option for those who preferred to play the game this way, because they considered it too hard, do not like the addon content or for whatever other reason.
Why take away the option? Let people decide which version they want to play it.
The Addon-less version is very hard to get these days, and if GOG is about good old nostalgic games, the option should definitely come back.
