hans.maya My PC does not have an internal DVD drive, to play this game I need a platform that offers this game “Freelancer” for sale as a download. It would be nice if you could polish Freelancer graphically and add some new elements. Freelancer is not yet offered on any platform, neither in the X-Box Game Pass, nor on Epic Store, Ubisoft or Steam. It's sad that a platform like GOG (Good Old Games) doesn't offer this oldie masterpiece.

Cavanoskus I played this game when it came out, but was only able to play at a friend's house, and never got to finish it. I've wanted for years to come back to it!
Off topic, it's pretty hilarious how many spam comments are on this one... we have everything from herbal remedies to spellcasters to crypto hackers. And one that seems to be about a google search for unusual wildlife with no attempt to sell anything, which makes it the most confusing out of all of them lol

Arinamarcella In a landscape of space simulator games from Elite Dangerous to Eve Online to X4: Foundations to Everspace to Starfield, even to the supposed successor to Freelancer, Star Citizen, none have scratched the itch that Freelancer created when I played it so many moons ago. I have chased space sim games trying to recreate the feeling that this game gave me and here we are 20 years later, and none have succeeded. I would pay new game retail prices to be able to reliably play this game on modern hardware. Please enshrine this amazing space simulator so that I can once again fight against the Nomads, save humanity, infiltrate Alaska, and explore a rich, untouched galaxy of star systems through the wormholes where none have gone before.

Starcat5 PCs no longer come with Disk Drives, and as such there will come a day when no one will be able to play Freelancer even if they already own it. Isn't this exact scenario the very reason GoG exists in the first place?

Lord.Izanagi I've never played this game, but I remember watching my uncle play it when I was young, and I'd be very interested in trying it out. The only problem is that it's basically impossible to find. The cheapest physical copy I found on Amazon is $40, and even Microsoft removed the digital download from their store. Would be amazing to see it on GOG so people like myself can try this gem of a game out.
