on top of that, scs software canceled possibility of buying no-steam legacy version.
i found it out when trying to buy it! o_O
why they dont want my money without sharing
30 % with steam?
i have no steam account and never will.
SCS dont want this, unftrly
Очень жду эту игру в gog.com Добавьте, пожалуйста!
doesnt want it on GOG but happily makes it available on origin lol
I asked the developers about a GOG version, and unfortunately this was the reply: "Hello, we unforunately do not have plans to release our titles on GOG at this time. The legacy version of the game that can run without Steam can be purchased using links in the support section of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 website. Please note that these codes may not be used on Steam."
I would love to play it on GOG !
For about 9 months now I've been trying to get some kind of response from Pavel (listed as the CEO on the SCS website contact page).
Not even a single response, really disappointed that SCS won't even look at or consider GOG.
My failing history of trying to gain some excitement for GOG from SCS: steamcommunity.com/app/270880/discussions/0/598198356190745543/
I've given up trying personally but contact details for SCS can be found at the following page if anyone is interested: www.scssoft.com/contact.php
Brilliant game that definitely needs DRM free version.
Definitely would buy if it comes here.
I already have it on Steam and would like to buy ETS2 on GOG, if it available.
I have this on Steam but would instabuy here just to get a DRM free version.
would love to buy it on GOG and play on Linux :-)
would love to buy tis on GOG
@Immoli
The online checks only came through after initial public retail release as a lot of people were using cracked keys on their copies. So they had a key server in place to check the key to see if it had been revoked.
I've had it since day 1 of release.
Also I "love" the logic the developers used to justify the DRM (as mentioned in the article posted by Immoli). First there was no DRM, a keygen appeared, they reacted with an online serial check. Excuse me, if there was no DRM (aside from an offline serial check) then just one legit key posted somewhere on the web would have done the job. I can imagine that piracy went up after the keygen was released because the game was mentioned and re-uploaded in places but technically speaking the keygen should not have changed anything (except for pirates trying to activate it on Steam but let's be honest - that's a check that has to be performed by Steam, not the game itself). I *do* understand their decision to include DRM when they noticed a massive increase in piracy but the keygen justification is still flawed.
Great game. The only of those many "simulator" games out there I was genuinely interested in after reading just one review, finally grabbed it a few weeks ago and I keep making one or two deliveries every couple of days in the evening. Very relaxing, I'm loving it. Too bad it's probably never gonna be on GOG.
@Immoli - I saw that. I (oddly) really wanted to play it too ...
blog.scssoft.com/2013/01/a-new-ets2-patch-almost-here.htmlApparently they decided to add online authentication to their game. Seems like a dick move. I doubt they'd be willing to release on GOG.
I love it!
