Callahan's Crosstime Saloon
I still have my original copy of this game. I'd love to be able to play it again.
I would have to agree. Great game, it's a shame it hasn't been picked up by GOG yet. Hopefully they do.
I'm throwing my wish for Callahan's too. I remember laughing out loud at a number of parts. I'd love to play it again
Please Please Please GoG, make "Callahan's Crosstime Saloon" available in your store!! Please! ALL adventure gamers would love to play this game again.
Please bring this to GOG. It is nearly impossible to find a physical copy for a reasonable price these days. The game itself is very funny with some great voice acting.
It is also based on the Callahan's Crosstime Saloon series of books by Spider Robinson so is of interest to fans of those books as well as adventure game fans.
An excellent and unusual adventure. Hope it gets released on GOG!
Oh, please bring this back! I'd buy it in a heartbeat ... love the books.
Would love to see this as well. Currently reading the books.
When asked about this game, I remember Spider Robinson saying that he's surprised that anyone even remembers this game. And that he was considering releasing it as freeware, because it's so difficult to find nowadays.
Based on that, I'd hazard a guess that it'd be relatively easy to get publishing rights for this game.
Absolutely! This one has my vote, too. One of my alltime favorites. Please, Gog, put it on!
I would LOVE to play this game again!!
Let's get all the Legend Entertainment titles on GOG if at all possible!
I would like to see this someday. Please publish it! :)
superb "other kind of" adventure. Fond memories. Please publish!
I would buy this in a heart beat. Please find a way to sell it.

66 on all time best adventure games of all time on adventuregamers.com cmon GOG please add it
I would really love the chance to play this! I have heard a lot about it, seems like I would adore it.
Can GOG staff comment on the possibility of porting this game to GOG?
My all-time favorite adventure game next to Full Throttle.
I hope 2K has the rights to this. Big Spider Robinson fan and would love to see the game version of Callahan's!
Copies of this game can go for high price on auction sites. It's a fun game with nice visuals and lots of humor. It'd be great to see it available on GOG.com so more people can have a chance of playing it.
Love this game. It's like going to Shufflepuck Cafe but instead of just playing pong you get to instead explore the world and all the cool characters.
I absolutely love this game ! I would buy it the minute it comes out :)
I'm in.
People don't know what they are missing because this game lacked strong marketing. However anyone who plays this game, critic or regular joe/jane, review it very highly. It's humorous, punful, easy interface, excellent art graphics, and music good too. Legend did an excellent job. The game is closely modeled on Spider Robinson's book (he's a great scifi author), and he worked with them on it, and also did some of the music/songs for it. See credits at mobygames. This game physically is now a collector's item. GOG please republish it! Spider would get a big kick out of you republishing his game so people become more aware of it, he's that kind of guy. He's been through some very tough family events lately, but he's still kicking online and writing. Check out his website.
OK the 1.01 patch turns out to be 32 bit and is not usable on 64-bit unless someone edifies me otherwise if I can use it.
I use a dosbox.conf file for each game so I can tweak 'em as needed. Here are the few dosbox.conf settings I changed from defaults to run Callahan's without a hitch (well, I haven't replayed the game fully).
[sdl]
fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=1366x768
windowresolution=900x700
output=ddraw
autolock=false
# The strange windowresolution size I used was the largest window size I could get on this dell's 1366x768 dpi screen, without chopping off the bottom of the window (& text). Every game seems to behave differently on this variable, even if they came out the same year. Oh well. This game came out in 1997, at which time VGA (640x480) and SVGA (800x600) were most widely used among consumers.
# Autolock=false to prevent mouse-trapping in windowed mode.
# Aspect=true to preserve original aspect ratio during adaptation to modern widescreens.
[render]
aspect=true
# Dosbox 0.74 defaults on everything else.
# FYI, during the install from cd within dosbox, I chose soundblaster 16 for digital sound and soundblaster pro for midi sound; these were put by the install script into one of the three ini files under the game's /CCS directory.
No sound can be either you need to lower the dosbox cpu cycles to under 10000, or some download (bootleg) versions are lacking sound. Game is supposed to run just fine in dosbox 0.74, and also scummvm. There is also a patch 1.01 available for a midgame freeze issue that some people encounter, but many do NOT encounter it. Look for it at patches-scrolls.de. I own this on CD but would like to see gog.com put out a handy dandy digital version for convenience; also, it's a darn good adventure game that really just needed better marketing. The scifi novel was excellent as well.
I have found this game from other sites and such only problem is that the sound does not work, and without that it just isn't the same. People do not know what they are missing, where is the love Kings Quest, Space Quest fans?
Deserves to be here. Amazing game!
I would have bought this.. T_T
Callahan's Crosstime Saloon is, in a world, incredible. Groanworthy puns, interesting stories, likable characters, great artwork and voice acting, and moments that are surprisingly moving and poignant all add up to not only the best game by Legend Entertainment, but a stone-cold classic of the genre. Please please PLEASE make this available again, GOG!
oh please gog, please put this one!! :'{
Please, yes. Also, go read the books.
This will never get there with so few votes, but how do we spread the word about the game when so very few people have played it!? Catch 22!
Oh yes. Oh. Hell. Fucking. Yes!
One of my all-time favorite franchises. (See my username?). Please GOG? For me?
My copy is around somewhere, but it's difficult to get working. I miss the puns.
I have an original cd & book, but I would still like a nice portable GOG version. Until then:www.abandonia.com/games/297/CallahansCrosstimeSaloon.htm
Truly one of the best point n' click adventures. I would really like to play this one again. My new fangled computer won't read the disc, and I can't get the sound to work correctly in dosbox.
Got my vote
