LaserMoai On second thought, it appears Xplosiv simply distributed that release on behalf of CDV, so that must be why the logos are the same
LaserMoai I've looked into the Xplosiv version and I'd like to correct some misconceptions. Some people claim that it is much better and that Xplosiv themselves worked on it to improve the game and even add content.
It appears to literally just be Cdv's release with the 1.017 patch published by Cdv a month after release included. The most significant changes that patch made are some crashes and a couple of cutscenes being fixed and vehicle damage models changed. Xplosiv didn't even bother to replace any in-game Cdv logos with theirs. Many Chinese bootleggers on Dendy put more effort into masking the old publisher than Xplosiv did.
I find it weird that company even bothered to rerelease this when it's 95% as broken as it was on launch. Was this just some weak attempt to cash in on the Halo 2 hype?
Do note however that I don't own an Xplosiv version CD. I'm speaking based on the ISO I got from the Breed Facebook community admin.
Bravado The game has a community and I know modders were looking into fixing bugs last time I looked some years ago.
Bravado This is one of those unknown gems that sadly flew under the radar. GoG is definitely the home for this game.
The game was released twice, the 2nd time under the name
Breed: XPlosiv range.
This version has bugfixes and extra content the initial "CDV" version lacks (released too soon, anyone?). The bad reviews are mostly from the first version of the game and this was largely the cause of the game's obscurity.
XPlosiv edition is the one that GoG should add.
Overall the game boasts fun multiplayer experiences, vehicle physics and a system that let you seamlessly fly from outer space and land on the ground! In a sense it can be seen as Halo's distant cousin.
Plot: In the year 2600 much of the Earth's population have left their home world and formed colonies on the world's of the Besalius binary star system. All seemed peaceful in these fledgling colonies but as the last shuttle arrived in 2602 they were attacked by a terrifying alien race that would be nicknamed "The Breed". These attacks seemed to be random with little or no thought or logic, but they were devastating nevertheless. Under such an assault the colonies had no choice but to send out a distress call to Earth.
