MadeUpName556 Sweet! Just after my last post I took a look on PC Gaming Wiki and found more info on patches.
That led me to <a href=""https://www.bwgame.net/downloads/categories/patches.44/"" class="light_un" target="_blank">"https://www.bwgame.net/downloads/categories/patches.44/"</a>
I downloaded patch 1.2 and then the Community Patch 1.42 and applied both. Now the games looks much better and runs fullscreen at 1366 x 768 resolution.
The community patch also removes the DRM which will keep the game from running on windows 10.
MadeUpName556 I just installed this on a windows 10 laptop from the original CD. I applied the V1.1 patch and a V 1.1 NOCD executable.
My kid is playing it now so the orignal game will run on win 10.
I need to figure out how to make it fill the screen if I can but came here to see if GoG had it fisrt.

They tried to bring this but it's hard to do it because of the following reasons:
1st The publishing rights are owned by EA games, since the first game had them as publishers.
2nd After Lionheads Studio was purchased by Microsoft, it is them who owns the IP of the game and everything else about the game.
In conclusion it's a legal shenanigans some of these companies have to get through it's the challenging part. "It takes two to tango" But the opportunity cost is a bit on the ballance there, As they want to bring back Black and White, but their money team and the legal team who they pay to bring back old games like this would make a high cost with probably a low income profit.
In easier words it's easy to look for something else that will not cost them to much time and money.
Hope it helps until we finally have a legal way to get this game.
The only thing is to talk Microsoft into making a deal with EA games, and talking EA into accepting.
Ringmaster I've been checking back into this wish for years now..... This absolutely needs to be a thing. If anyone has any clarification as to why it's so *legally* difficult to achieve, or if there is any link that can be provided for info on the forums, please do so.
I'm baffled that we don't have access to this yet.

andreasaspenberg2 this game is difficult. i can play it myself, because i still have it. the main issue is that the publisher(EA) no longer have the rights, after the developer(lionhead) was taken over by microsoft. while microsoft does not own the rights. i support adding it to gog but, i do not believe it to be possible.

PolyTicks I wish this would release, but I'm not expecting it. The issue is that it's unclear if this game license is owned by Lionhead Studios (the studio that created the game, bought by Microsoft) or EA Games (who published the game). There is an open source engine that can run Black & White, but you're required to get a lot of files yourself (available on the original disks of the game) to be able to run it.

Bitfortress2 B&W 1 is fantastic, it needs to be preserved if at all possible. B&W 2 is neat too but the first one is literal gaming history and it's a crime that it's not available for purchase.
