Soldessol Confirmed : redeem the serial keys included with each game tto get the original saga versions. They are incorrectly labeled as enhanced edition. They can be found in your library on gog.com, click the game then click MORE then SERIAL KEYS.

damian16estey It actually works lol, when you go to serial keys and you see the link next to the Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition; that link actually is the a which is so confusing.
Jamar1978 It actually says Enhanced Edition on the serial key link but it adds the Original saga version to your GOG-library. Still works.
ThunderSoul97 There's no way to get the original, sadly. I'm not sure what the rest of the people here are talking about. The serial keys are for the enhanced versions only.

for baldur's gate 2 -- copy the serial/key listed under "serial keys" in to the "redeem a code" page
note: the "serial keys" page is located under games -> baldurs gate enhanced 1/2 -> more -> serial keys

Ferdogz Soo I got the OG BG I through the serial key. Now, if I refund the EE version, will the OG BG that I got from the serial key be refunded as well??
TheeChosenJon It's 2022, just want to confirm that the method for getting the OG version of Baldur's Gate shared by Vadim_Usovych still works perfectly.
If you can't find it, hit ctrl+f and paste his username. It should be the first result. Also note that this method also works for OG Baldur's Gate 2, confirmed!

Symfaer Got a suggestion for the D&D game list from GOG. Remembering the quality of Beamdog's work (low) and all the antics they have been up to over the years, I will NOT be buying any of their "Enhanced" editions. I would LOVE to buy BG & BG2 again (as well as NWN an PT), but only the originals.
tena Sad to see the original BG unavailable for purchase without EE. It's an excellent game and a classic of the genre.

For those who bought the Enhanced Edition and aren't able to install the originals versions, you can need to follow a sequence of steps to get them:
1. Go to you library with an internet navigator;
2. Click in the picture of the Enhanced Edition of the game in your shelf. This will open a sort of pop up with option of management of the game and its goodies;
3. Click in big button "MORE" near to the other big, but colored, button "TRY GOG GALAXY";
4. Between all the options that will show up, click in the "SERIAL KEYS" option. That will show the name of the game and a web site address (url) to a redeem code;
5. Copy and paste this url and visit its page, or just open it. There you will be able to validate the url's reddem code and receive the original version of the game in your GOG's library.
P.S.: GOG would have been made this more intuitive.

Jamar It look like you can still buy the original Icewindale II. I hear that it is the weakest in the Baldur's Gate/Planescape/Icewind "series". However, I think it is worth getting now while you still have and while it is HALF the cost of an enhanced edtion PLUS you get the soundtrack for FREE lol.

Lamrett Yeah, the Enhanced Edition sucks! All those improvements only take away from the experience. Those many bugs fixed make the game. That content that was in the original game but inaccessible should never have been restored. There wasn't ever an extensive modding community that made very popular mods that did a lot of what the EE does. Guess there will always be those that prefer an original version despite a later one being much better purely because of either nostalgia and or just not liking anything different and being adverse to any and all change.
Sincerely-Someone who played the original and welcomes the Enhanced Edition with open arms.
AmatriusKemo I have to agree with everybody here. I came to GOG for the Original versions. Looks like I might wind up getting it elsewhere at this point. These "enhanced editions" are exactly what I DO NOT WANT!
PetePawn The only reason i use gog at all is for a working version of an old game. I can't say i care for the EE.
