Area 51
this is for the 1995 Arcade version right
Give it to us baby!
1+
Please add, great game
One of the coolest single-player FPS experiences I have EVER had. This game needs to be ported to newer generations.
Classic arcade fun. If I was with my dad and we took a look at an arcade, even if it was the smallest arcade at an interstate rest stop, we'd see Area 51 and be like, awwwww yeahhhh
good sci-fi shooter
It's available as Freeware. It should be as easy as it was adding BioMenace to the store was.
I miss this game! I say yes and please add option to skip cut scenes too ;-). I like David Duchovny's voice acting, but after listening to it every time, well you get the idea
I want it!
This should be here. GOG already brought back a decent amount of Midway games.
With all the current memes this would be the perfect time for it
Area 51 is another perfect old game for GOG. I'd buy it.
I'll buy it 100% on GOG! =)
All the comments are for the 2005 fps. Just fyi, there's a specific wish for that here, too: www.gog.com/wishlist/games/area_51_midway_studios_2005
@ftlty: Which one? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_51_(1995_video_game)
or en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_51_(2005_video_game)
I want this game to be revived along with its multiplayer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SelFoA1z3Mc (not the best video I could find)
Mutant mode was particularly fun: 2 people start off as mutants and have to infect other players to win, while the humans have to wait until the timer sets to 0 to win.
This game was pretty underrated and overlooked. I hope to see it on GOG one day.
Just got the urge to play this game again. I'm thinking about buying it for my PS2, I can get it for about 15. But still, really hoping it comes to GOG one day.
Area 51 from Midway would be great, it has already been released as freeware before Midway went under, it would be great to have a safe place to download it from.
I'm also voting for this assuming it's the 2005 shooter. Yes this game was VERY underrated. Having it free would be cool and all but I'd rather purchase it DRM free and own it forever. GOG, this would be a day one purchase for me :)

It seems to be freeware so it shouldn't be too hard to get it on here.
If any one really really wants it, it can be found over at Fileplanet. But be quick, the site seems to be on it's way down as of the message at the top of the site. www.fileplanet.com/216672/210000/fileinfo/Area-51-%28Free-Game%29
Voting for 2005 FPS too. Hopefully with Midway/WB here it'll come eventually. :)
If this is FPS, please add it!
Another vote here assuming the 2005 version with David Duchovny providing voice work. Really great game!!
I am also assuming this is about the 2005 FPS. Great game. I enjoyed pretty much every aspect of it, though I wish there was co-op multi-player. Even though I could get it for free with ads, I'd still pay for it if it were on GOG.
If it is the 2005 FPS, it has my vote. Man, what an underrated game! While the story was meh, the gunplay really made up for it, and the game rewarded exploration with more clues and hints as to what was going on in the story. I remember trying out the demo and liking it very much, and had an absolute blast with the full game.
Not sure if the ad-supported version works, but it would be an insta-buy for me if this came out on GOG!
Is this the 2005 FPS? If so It has my vote.
This game is now freeware at... www.freepcgamers.com/2008/12/area-51.html
The game is sponsored by ads and the United states Air Force, but nothing interferes with gameplay, just ads during the initial intro.
Some clarification as to which "Area 51" this is would be appreciated. If it's either the arcade shooter or the FPS on PC, I enjoy both.
I voted for this assuming that it's the 2005 FPS game. I assume that's the one the OP meant?
I voted for it assuming it is the was the 2005 version, but that one is called Area-51. Is this the 1996 railshooter?www.mobygames.com/game/area-51www.mobygames.com/game/area-51_
