RainbowDragon I know I am just day dreaming but... let's do some lobbying to have a new Anno 1800 version here on gog.com right from the start! Without all that uplay/steam/drm-sh.... finally, after Anno 1404, another drm-free Anno game - would love to buy it here and promise that I will not buy it from ubisoft if it is infected with either uplay or steam!

sedistix I have this game on steam and it works flawlessly, albeit I have to put up with Ubisoft launcher. It is an amazing game though, lost hundreds of hours on it. I would happily purchase it here as well, even at full price. I live in a rural setting and online always games is a tough thing to always have.
I really hope it ends up on here. I see many other Anno games already have.
Monsterkater The game is awesome, I played it at a friend's house and then I couldn't stand the thought of not owning it any longer. Also, I want to complete my Anno collection. Therefore, I recently bought it on Steam just to notice I need Ubi Connect as well?! Worse still, I wasn't even able to create an Ubi account! I tried for a solid hour, it always just states my username would be taken or just error out completely for some reason only known to Ubisoft. Not to mention the f'ing ReCaptcha with a mind of it's own.
F Ubisoft, I refunded the game and am hoping for a GOG release.

hafizadam the reason why GOG exist, is to prevent the tragedy of Anno1800 happen again. now you see what happens when Steam removed this game to be Epic exclusive only, and now theyre bringing this game back as new package.
obdan_van_darg Since FINALLY we'll get RETURN TO MONKEY ISLAND on November 28, I still have hope for the missing Anno games to be added to the GOG catalogue.

Klabauter8 I think that also. Uplay, please realesed Anno 1800 for GoG.com. My Uplay does not work with Anno 1800 Standard-edition or kings-edition. Thats not be ok. Do something, please.
yelt It has been about three years since this game released.
I think maybe after another 3 years, UBI will think no one will want to buy this game, then they will agree to move this game to GOG.
And then, it will be our chance to have it.
Now, we just wait.

Greybriar I would have purchased Anno 1800 when it was first released but I read that Ubisoft had gone overboard again on its DRM requirements (remember StarForce back in the day? It was used by Ubisoft on its games back then.)
In short, if GOG sold a DRM-Free version of ANNO 1800, it would be an instabuy by me.
Andtha I made the conscious decision to never again buy a DRM-locked game. I have Anno 1602, 1503, 1701 and 1404 because they are available on GOG. I won't buy Anno 2070, 2205 and 1800 until they are available DRM-free. Of those, Anno 1800 is the most interesting one to me personally. I hope it will be available some day. If not, I'll stick to those I already have.
sanctus2099 I have GoG and Steam. I'm not installing any other crap like epic or uplay or wtv. Would gladly buy it if available on GoG or Steam otherwise I'd rather just not play it. Meanwhile.. I'm searching for 'alternative' ways.

Utuzuu When I first voidep oppostion to Steam, people were less than pleasant and called me stupid, because after all, what could go wrong,. These same people now enjoy the amazing feature of having games forcibly tied to several launchers with more on the horizon. Meanwhile, I was about to cave in and get this game on Steam, but in an ironic twost of fate, Ubisoft decided to prove a point and put it on epic exclusive... I do genuinely hope that there is a silver lining here, namely that putting it on the Epic store and then, presumably, on Steam later on means that the game is not built to depend on one specific platform and thus may come to GOG more easily. Assuming further that publishers have little interest in splitting their player base into groups on different launchers that cannot play with each other, I expect more cross-platform multiplayer in the future. So... yay? But then again, the current mindset in the industry is firmly against the consumer. Let's hope for the best.
