Cloud game saves completed
meu the wicher nao sincroniza com a nuvem, perdi meu save mesmo?
Is there a way to see which games feature cloud saves? Planescape: Torment seems to have them, but Legends of Grimrock doesn't?
Hi all,
I can not save the game.
In GOG Galaxy, he tells me "Cloud saves not synced"
How can I solve the problem?
Thank you
Thank you for making it happen GOG! I'm just too lazy to do that personal cloud thing. Steam has spoiled me.
You all want to get free gems , coins , silver , gold and bronze shield , power ups , power packs , med kits , armors and other discrete black hat professional service on

I also dispute that this wish is completed. As fars as I can tell none of my games on GOG have cloud save and all of their steam versions do.
I've noticed that my Mount and Blade saves don't sync using Galaxy. What's up with that?
You can't really claim that this wish has been fulfilled when about 20 games support this feature.
with my game of rebel galaxy cloud save is not working, hope this will soon be fixed. and then i need money lots and lots of money. ~~ Cheers
Be fine if the thing would synch, but it doesn't. Had issues in which I had to do a reinstall. I had completed all of HoS and was working on B&W. I had noticed that it wasn't synching to cloud, but it was saving locally. Should have moved the save files to another drive and didn't. Reinstalled and I was at the beginning of HoS ( May 10th ) I lost everything from that day til May 21st when I quit to work on the PC. I took care of it and when I reinstalled The Witcher 3, it did synch, but not after that, so all my save files are Local. Good idea that worked for a while. Too bad.
Very much appreciated. Thank you so much GOGuys.
I am now coming back to GOG.
it appears that only some games have the save game option.
This is absolute garbage, they made it seem like this was already implemented for games like No Man's Sky and Witcher.
All my time (so much time) in both of those games are now lost. Good bye GOG. I don't care about DRM free software if my time investment can easily be lost.
wasnt this supposed to be out this month?
I would love to have the possibility to backup saved games to 3rd party clouds, OwnCloud instances (internet/intranet) or on a local NAS drive/device
Shouldn't this be closed? Cloud saves are now, thankfully, in effect. GOG is awesome!
... just reinstalled Windows to see gog does not support cloud saves... Halfway through Witcher 3, and BG2ee... Won't buy another gog game untill it's implemented.
This feature would be awesome to have, so +1 :)
Galaxy needs cloud saves
I agree. Though it's not easy to implement, it would easily make it my favorite client if it had could.
I just lost my witcher 3 save as well because of windows problems and had to reformat. PLEASE DO CLOUD SAVES , THIS SUCKS!
1) it's already easy to do yourself (afaic), 2) it would require that the devs agree on a unified/common way of saving games or at least respect microsoft's guidelines regarding %userprofile%, librairies and such...
We're most likely going to have cloud storage capability in Galaxy before the end of the year IMHO. As for the small number of people who think "GOG wont do this because it would be too expensive for the servers" - that is complete nonsense. GOG sells games that vary in size up to 50GB and they have no problem whatsoever affording the storage for that no matter how many times we download and redownload every one of our games, or reinstall them through Galaxy.
Savegames on the other hand are miniscule, from kilobytes to a few megabytes or even dozens of megabytes for any given game. The amount of data storage to store people's save games on GOG's end and the network bandwidth of transferring the data is extremely negligible, and both bandwidth and disk storage are remarkably cheap in 2017.
You'll be shocked and amazed at just how capable GOG is of being able to afford cloud storage when the feature becomes available later this year if I am accurate in my crystal ball predictions.
Cloud storage costs are practically negligible.
It is 2017 after all....
this feature, more than anything else, is why i prefer steam over GOG. please add asap. cloud storage is super cheap.
With the client in its current state (i.e., great) this is the one missing feature that is THE Debbie Downer for me. I'm constantly switching computers... soooooooooo... it's a major pain to play my GOG games when I have to manually copy save files around. I realize there are a couple of key hurdles here.
Hurdle One: Where to store all this stuff? Is GOG going to foot the bill for the storage? I don't expect them to, even tho' it'd be cool if they made some deal and pulled it off with some "cloud storage provider". However, there are other "personal" options like DropBox, Amazon Cloud Drive, etc., but they each require an investment in API learning and integration effor to get support for those cloud storage options into Galaxy. (Side note: Take Galaxy, or Galaxy plugins into the open-source realm and get community help to implementation!).
Hurdle Two: Where are the save files for a particular game, and what exactly needs to be saved? Valve gets away with this for "free" by pushing the Cloud Saves feature to the devs and leaving it up to them. GOG can't rely on this for the vintage titles (with no active dev team) and kinda need to take care of it themselves. For newer titles, they could make this part of the API and/or the distribution setup (maybe they already have... I don't know, I'm not a dev on GOG yet). Again, this could be solved by some community help via a bit of Galaxy plugin open-source mojo.
So, I guess my point is... YES GOG... please bump this up on the priority list, but also, GOG'ers, keep in mind that they can't just wave their magic wand and all of our games will be magically "cloud save enabled".
GOG - keep up the awesome work!
P.S. Linux client......... Linux client......... Linux client....... :-P
Would be realy nice, I just installed Witcher 3 again to start with the wine and blood dlc. since That was the only thing I had left to do when I finished my playthrough over a year ago and the expansion was not yet released I put that game on hold, but have since then had to reset my computer multiple times and forgot to save my files I now have to make a new game, which in of itself is no problem fgrom what I gather but what It means is that my decked out fully upgraded geralt is lost to me and I have to play the game all over again(150 hours first playthrough) I want the experience I thought I was gonna get. For now i'll put the game onl hold to see if the fire comes up again after this dissapointment.
As much as I want GOG to succeed as a competitive gaming client, I just can't support it without cloud saves... It's so essential to ensure you don't lose data and can play seamlessly between systems (which is often doable given a huge portion of GOGs library are low-spec requiring games).
I've started to slowly migrate my GOG library to Steam because of this missing feature, and won't be using Galaxy until it's implemented. Hopefully this becomes a higher priority on their to-do list :/
Agree. Please do it, GOG!
"I would like to have it connected to my dropbox, or onedrive".
This is a great idea. If GOG were to implement this as Steam does, then GOG would need to host the infrastructure and pay the money to house the data for people's save games. Howevever, if GOG implemented support for existing cloud technologies such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. then the cost would only be development. GOG would not have to house and maintain the data. GOG would reap the benefits without having to pay the full cost. Seems like a great idea to me.
So I finished the game on my safe file, took a break, now rdy to return for DLC. sadly all my save games are gone...awesome....always trying to push these shite programms on the costumer (like GOG, origin etc.) but can't even get one of the most important things right. CD project is great, GOG not so much
I would like to have it connected to my dropbox, or onedrive
Just lost 30 hours of Witcher 3 game because there is no cloud save with GOG unlike with Steam and others. It really stinks, so no more GOG purchases for me .
NO! Only if we rent space on the server or something. It kinda violates the whole vibe. Renting space could be pretty cheap though.
I'm rather shocked it doesnt have this even in a really basic form (new to gog)
Oh well get it on galaxy so i can continue my classic adventures at work (on the sly ;) )
I voted for this, but I'd like to take my vote back. This is a great idea for a feature, but it will only add expense to the GOG brand while not generating revenue. That directly translates to higher prices. I'm not talking about the development time for the feature, of course, as that will pale in comparison to the added costs of what will probably be Amazon scaled storage (even Netflix uses Amazon).
What I do instead is I have a cloud service (I choose google drive, but you can use any), and I use junction points to map all of the save game directories for every game to somewhere in the google drive. The bonus is that Google keeps versioned copies of the files, so when I accidentally corrupt one like I somehow did in Dragon Age Origins, I can get it back from Google's history.
Anyway, I'd much rather resources go into features that do not increase the cost of doing business long after the feature has been implemented.
This would really improve GOG galaxy and maybe make me abandon Steam for good.
Very important feature, pls add it GOG devs
This is the single most important feature missing from Galaxy at the moment. Get on it, devs!
There is also software called GameSave Manager, which backs up saved game files to cloud.
I agree this is needed. GOG seem to like giving the power to buyers, they have perks Steam doesn't have -- such as not needing to be logged in. This I imagine would make it difficult. However, it'd be really great if GOG allowed you to configure a cloud drive, whether Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon, even FTP or what-have you. That'd be great! GOG could also, of course, offer their own cloud storage -- even if as a separate service. There are many ways, but this is a much needed feature given many households have many computers.
+100000 From a new costumer standpoint the lack of cloud save made me really debate whether to buy Witcher 3 for 17$ vs 29$ on steam+cloud save. I can't be the only one that feels that way. Make it optional, there's alot of positives of having a back up (specially given that gog is known for it's rpgs, baldur gate, etc that would benefit immensely from cloud), this would make gog instantly as appealing or more than steam.
This would be great. I want to play Stardew Valley on my surface as well as my desktop.
Has there been any word form GOG about this
or even a save manager system that would be recommended ??
+1 for the unified saves folder as a backup option.
I really want to support GOG, and the next game I am buying is Shadow Tactics. Steam has could save, GOG doesn't. I am holding off for now. I guess GOG for older games...but.....I really want to support GOG.
I will hold off a purchasing a few days until I hear if this is a planned optional feature.
Maybe I'm saying something silly, but providing such a feature could cost a lot to GOG, isn't it ? I mean, they would have to set up an huge online storage space which will end up impacting game pricing. Instead, maybe, it should be possible to create an "Unified Save Folder" used by all GOG games to write their saves. Then users could use this folder with a cloud storage provider.
I'll be buying Witcher 3 soon, however not sure whether I should go for GOG or Steam. I want to replay the whole series first, so this feature would be key for me.
If Galaxy needs anything, it's this :)
