Bring back manual folder path for Backup & Goodies downloads completed

In GOG Galaxy 1.2.2 Beta the function to choose a folder to which to manually download the game backup copy and the game extras (from Backup & Goodies) has been removed and the files are automatically downloaded to the set install path. This means one cannot use an external hard drive for easy direct archival anymore and make the whole process of drm-free backups more of a hassle.

I have what probably isn't the usual use-case, but I'm having a big problem with it. I have a small internal drive, so I keep games on an SD card. This is fine, I can put up with the slower load-times (which aren't really that slow, the read speed is pretty fast.) The problem is that now the games download to that drive, which has a VERY slow write speed. So basically, as the game downloads it stalls over and over as the disk writing maxes out. It takes an eternity.

In the past I it set up to download to the internal drive and just move it to the SD card-- that was much faster. But now I can't do that. Even if I install the game on the local machine and then move it to the SD card, any updates that trigger will then go at the slow speed because it downloads into the game folder.

I'm at a loss of what to do.

I don't like the new backup path into the gamedir. I want a specific path to burn the backup from a unique folder.

You CAN change the backup path.
>> Left click the 'gog.com' icon in the upper left.
>> Left click "Settings"
>> under "Folders"
>> place a check in "Manage all folders manually"
>> click the "..." box under "Download backups & goodies to:"
>> and select the folder you want.
>> click "OK"

Correction: it was version 1.2.0 that brought the major changes. So now every game backup and extras are automatically downloaded to a subfolder of the game's install path.

So, let's say, for example, if The Witcher 2 is installed at

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition

Then all of its 10GB of extras downloaded trough GOG Galaxy will be saved to

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition\!Downloads

This behavior cannot be currently changed a of version 1.2.2 of GOG Galaxy.
