Suffer The Night

I was only able to play this for a few hours last night after purchasing it. In the course of normal game play I opened a box and tried to retrieve an in game item, this resulted in an instant and repeatable game crash - UE4 Fatal Exception. Over an hour of troubleshooting and I was unable to resolve the crash. In researching that error it became clear that the developer has been aware of this since at least 04/2023 when the game released, but it has not been addressed. The item, to avoid spoilers, apparently impacts one of the games several endings. If you want to know more lookup "Suffer the Night Fools Box fatal exception" This is unfortunate because up to the point of that crash I was rather enjoying the game. It has some hitches with the engine and needs some optimization, but overall it was turning into a pretty good experience. At this juncture it is not possible for me to recommend this title due to the technical issue. If they fix that then I could probably wholeheartedly endorse it as an interesting indie game, and great for it's price point.

This game has the same survival horror stealth puzzle elements as usual but more like Portal it has the newer twist of having to 'do someone's bidding'. This taken with a bit more humour than usual and you have a strange b-movie like romp through a tormented-gamer's nightmare. Combat at times and somewhat unexpected plot-twists at others (not to spoil the rabbits).
