Adorable!
A simple, cute, fun and charming point & click adventure that can be finished in one lazy afternoon. I really dig the art style and setting, with the flavor of pirates and ghost and goblins, it's all highly adorable and creative without ever becoming overly sugary. Music fits the setting neatly with a Monkey Island vibe to it. Characters aren't fully voiced instead only have short voice clips, Zelda style. Puzzles are fairly easy and intuitive. In case you get stuck there's a hint system, you can ask the ghost chicken to point you in the right direction any time. The story uses a framing device of a couple of friends playing a DnD campaign together, explaining why you'll be running into the same 3 characters over and over. It's a very short game after all so it won't distract too much. Only nitpick would be, quite frequently the game breaks its own 4th wall and takes you out of the story to tell a joke in the game's "real" world of the characters discussing their campaign. I felt a tad annoyed by that as it broke the flow, not a huge deal though. All in all I highly recommend Chook & Sosik, it's a delight. My main gripe would be that it ends very abruptly. There two different endings you can get, both can be obtained on the same playthrough while one is a little more elaborate. Btw, there's also some more short & free(!) games available with Chook & Sosik at the dev's itch.io store, go check them out if you like what you got here.
