Base One

Inshort, i thought i'd love this game. Turned out to be more about micromanaging connections more than anything else. This is a major dampener on the game as a whole because a large portion of the game mechanics revolve around connection micro management headache. If it wasn't for that this game would be alot of fun. Outside of that, the game has a unique story. You'll wanna watch a lets play to really get into it. But the meat and potatos sadly seem to revolve around connections and may also put a massive dampender on your gameplay. I mean once you get done fiddling with connection issues that sometimes do work the game becomes fun so theres that. Feels like if Faster Than Light (FTL), mixed in with space base builder mechanics, but far more tedius to do just about everything. If this game ever updates and removes the hassle mechanics (just make it auto connect or allow players to freely modify if they so choose) then ill update this review to explain that

Trailer seems appealing, so I bought it in discount... Even like that, I'm having a bitter taste in my mouth. Graphics is nice, even if animations are a bit repetitive, I was amuse and surprise myself watching motions of your space-sim's. Some are really funny (guys sleeping anywhere when all beds are busy). Micro-management of various parameters (electricity generation and consumption, heat, O2, ...) are cool at beginning. You can re-route flux path to prevent huge catastrophic when you are hit by aliens/asteroids. Once I had all O2 generator in same place...who get strike badly...you imagine the rest. Alas, annoying part starts.. Micro-management become quickly boring, multiple glitch on astronauts motions, multitude of modules and equipment's but all the same at the end (shape and structure), story (if any), ... I will give another go in some time, hopefully some more (longer) fun moment will come with it.

The game was alegedly released May 11, 2021. If it has actually been released, why is it a RC version? Even now allmost 3 moths later and we still have a RC verion: RC 0.989.68b/0.2.1.1 I honestly thought that selling a Release Candidate as a finished produc was illegal. The game has a potential but it is full of bugs and is simply put an unfinished product. This sale is a scam, I'm not getting what I thought I was buying and the sale of this product has(to me at least) seriously damaged GOG reputation.

No matter what you build, feed, repair, the people always start dying, something is up with the mechanics behind them and it really detracts from the game play heavily.
