Not everyone can become a hero
DLC adds a new story branch that sees the main character come back from France not as a wealthy and reputable warrior but as the same nameless militiaman who failed to accomplish anything great but instead got scarred by war and trained to kill. Return to your once peaceful home only to find it torn apart by a ruthless conflict between peasants and nobility — with both sides desperately seeking help from ex-soldiers like you. Find your own cause worth fighting for — or try to stay away from the fight and see for yourself how easy it is to earn your living without spilling blood.
Reverse side of the coin
The second new story branch allows the player to take the side of count Canterbury and help him and his men claim victory in first the civil war and then the war against the Kingdom of Scotland. Navigate through a thick web of political intrigues, conspiracies and fragile alliances in order to see for yourself that the difference between 'good' and 'evil' is much more subjective than one might think.
Reworked squad mechanics
The DLC also brings a large-scale rework of the player's squad and everything related to it. Allies now have new visual models that correctly reflect their class and experience level. Their equipment is now fully-customizable with player being able to manually give them any desired item — including poisoning their weapons and supplying them with various medicines.
On top of that, the squadmates' receive an expanded control menu in battle, allowing the player to choose their target of attack, fighting style and — if things start to go south — order the character to retreat from battle, saving their life at the cost of experience.
