de Blob 2

Heard this was a great sequel never got a chance to play it before on console. Only played the first one on the wii. My pc is under the minimum requirements for the graphics but still runs good. Lowest fram dips at 25 here and there but mostly around 40-60. Specs: AMD A10 Quad Core 2.5ghz, 16gb ram, and 768mb Radeon HD 8650G.

I first bought this game used for X360 on a whim and 100% it the same week. Bought it back again for PS3 to gift and I was delighted both games were released here. It's a 3D puzzle/platformer where the titular Blob must repaint a world turned b&w because of an evil dictator and his army. The humour is light and family-friendly, The graphics are cartoony and every level sits comfortably inbetween exploration and time trial. Blob must absorb colors with his body (he can mix them a little too) to paint the designated colors, or just recolor in general. Blob's animation is smooth and slick and the visual package gives great charm to the game. There are some enemies and bosses, but none pose a threat, the charm lies in a fun and colorful journey. There are upgrades available to buy, but you can beat the game without them if you want to. Once a level is beaten you can revisit it for extra secrets. There are also various MP modes to add replayability. The music is really great, a mix of lounge, bossa nova, rumba, it gives that tropical feel of Brazilian pop music that was often played in the 70s and 80s, and it pairs very well with the whimsical atmosphere of the game. If you combine the music and the graphics, the presentation is superb and drawn you in de Blob's cartoony world. If you must pick one, de Blob 2 is a little more refined than the first one, but both games are great and getting the full storyline is a plus. A definite recommend from me, it's great relaxing fun and a great time for everyone.

Same game as the first Blob. Good sequel. Better control, Camera, Quests. The soundtrack, sfx and animations are what give it more life and fun to the game. Each level duration is about approximately one hour. If thats not a problem, I recommend.

I found this game for cheap, claims a 10.5 hour of gameplay and had glowing reviews so I decided to buy it. Graphics, art-style, story, music and controls are good, but I was personally disappointed by it. The character moves around at rate that is too slow for my liking to the point that I kept pushing different buttons hoping to find a speed move or something to speed him up. The characters I also found unrelatable. There is no voice acting, the character make noises and you read what they're supposedly saying. This may have worked well for Donkey Kong and Banjoo Kazoie in the 1990s but here it makes the characters annoying and the conversations (especially during the early tutorials) just slow the proceedings even further. If you read elsewhere that levels are like 1 hour long it's not because the story is packed with events. It's because this game moves slow. The fact that some objectives have to be completed in a time limit makes the slowness frustrating. I don't know if the game is over-rated or if maybe it's just me! Maybe I started playing it in the wrong mood. For some reason it just didn't rub on me. I recommend you try it and keep it if you like it. It's cheap anyway. You could end up having a good time and if you don't, it's your right to ask for a refund like I did.
