Bad Mojo Redux

After Iron Helix, the crew came to me with Bad Mojo and I was all in. 110% all in. From recording Buffy the hissing cockroach and old San Francisco wall gas heaters, to spending endless nights on end scoring against some of the most amazing visuals for it's time. We took a pioneering direction in creating the game play score in such a manner that it could be dynamically created depending on creature location in high quality sound. A feature that wasn't done back then and only toyed with by few. The fact that you can now get the full double CD soundtrack of this game included in this release for only $5.99 is pretty much the icing on the cake. If you came to my site, it would be $5 for each disc - and while I don't make anything from the sales here off this site, I'm eager to finally see the Bad Mojo music released to a world wide audience.! What is great about this title is you can tell the game-makers really loved what they were doing. They want us to love it, too. This isn't some corporate "Call of Duty 27" that looks to demographics. It is an idea people had and worked hard and had fun bringing into fruition. At it's heart, it is rather simple. You are a cockroach (Why/how is the McGuffin). You need to figure out how to traverse the scene from Entrance to Exit. A maze with obstetrical and things to do, basically. But it does it so well! It is fun to pick this up every once in a while over the years just loose yourself in your Journey of a Roach. Because, like Myst, you have to put yourself into the position and into the environment ... and you do. Immersion done right. Plus, it is not said on here, but the "redux" part is the version that was made with improvements like MYST masterpiece edition. The graphics were good in the original and they are even better in the redux version. Therefore the game holds up over time. But, don't get this game thinking you will have hours to play it or ridiculous challenges. It is very accessible. It is not a breeze but it is not meant to be hard. I was challenged some times for just a moment, sometimes longer, but the magic is that you are never frustrated you never rage-quit! Just have fun, it's only a game!

This cockroach simulator is not what I would call an enjoyable game on which you will spend hours. But you will enjoy it as a curiosity in terms of gameplay, graphics and concept. As such, with a unique yet disgusting charm of its own, this game should mark your experience as a player as it did for me. Thanks for the addition.

Definition of true hidden gem. Bad Mojo is a little adventure that takes you through the horrors of not so well maintained bar. Simple and easy to learn controls combined with different types of obstacles in cockroach's journey making Bad Mojo a unforgettable experience, especially if you always wanted to see the world from really detailed perspective of a small insect.
