bad compatibility
Well, Worms 2 is a great game. It is actually my favourite game in the whole series. And I was very happy to see it on gog.com, because I recently tried my CD-Version of it, and it had big compatibility issues. I must say, I was a bit shocked, that the gog version also has some of the compatibility issues. That they removed the Online part didn't bother me, because I always played on just one PC. But of course this is a bad thing. The biggest problem is, that the backgroundmusic does not work. There is a menu in which you can choose, which tracks should be played, but they are not. Instead there is now music in the main menu, but only there, and each time you select something, the music stops (and continous as soon as you go back to the main menu). This is worse than no music! And, there are some more problems. Some colours of backgroundobjects are wrong, and also the shoot power indicator has totally wrong colours. Alt+Tab doesn't work, if you return to the game, all colours are totally messed up. And sometimes the game freezes after a match. Oh, and another little Detail: The funny videos are out of sync, as the audio is faster than the video, regardless if they are played ingame or in VLC Media Player. What a shame. Well, 6$ might not be expensive. But I just bought a game a second time in order to play it on my new PC and it does not work correctly. It might be playable, but if I spend money solely for a compatibility patch (as I already own the original game) than it should fix all problems. It is very sad that now I can't even trust gog and have to read comments and forum topics to be sure that the game I might buy is really compatible with Win 7. The team should have worked harder to fix everything, this way I will definitely rethink my next buy on gog.com.
