Casual but fun.
0.9.0.9 review, Steam versions not the same as GOG. First the bad- Game play is action based, no real strategy. think hulk smash some items sort of let you have some strategy but since the current version does not let you build the items its more luck to what you get end result lots of wasted time and money to attempt to aquire items The role play really does not exist, You select from 3 choices to level up, but this is really just a way to trick you into thinking you are in control when it really just funnels you thru the game to match up to what you are going to face. Casual game play in that once undead are unlocked you can summon them, some for free some at a gold cost. In game can raise the bodies on the ground but they do not stay for whole mission. No way to select which ones to raise, or remove from army. So no micromanagemt of army. Only time to really select what you want is to return to base and start fresh. Short game play, no way to trade items between saves. Limited replay value. Now the good- Game is fun, if you like an Overlord type game. (Overlord 3D, Undead Horde 2D top down) But basic command of attack this direction return to me, No sweeping move or selected unit attack. Overall if you like necromancers, and want something to kill a few hours, it is worth having. Other features that are not good or bad- depending on expectations. Some enemies are fixed so you kill them they do not spawn back, others spawn back if you leave the area and it is still controled by the living. Some buildings spawn enemies till they are destroyed. Your army is limited by command points and gold. Each unit costs command points and gold, Some units are free( no gold cost but a command point cost) Command points can be raised by Necromancer level and some items.
