The games is awesome, defenitly not 1 nor 2 nor 3 Stars, a solid 3,5 to 4 Stars.
Loved it, from the beginning to the end. A bit tidious, if you are collecting everything as I was, but the weapons and how they sound is just so awesome. Those of us who are Terminator 1 and 2 fans will adore it. Music and atmosphere is just... Muah
FOV, you can change it, look it up on google or something, you'll have to go to some .ini file or some such and look for the FOV setting, look some good falks already explained it, just look for it, easy to find.
I had mine at 105 after tinkering and looking for what is best for me.
Played it on steam, if I had known it would be here... sigh
No, it's not a masterpiece, but a solid and competent product and if you're a Terminator fan, it's elevated to cult status as the developers clearly made sure that the story is perfectly set in the series universe.
The game is set in the future machine war during the final push at Sky net. just before the Terminator from the first movie is sent to the past to kill Sarah Connor. You play as one of the human resistance soldiers that does whatever he can to make sure humanity wins.
The game is semi open world. That is it's divided into small zones that you can move freely and do main and side quests. After you finish the main story quest you have a choice to move to the next zone or stay and find all the side content.
Again, not a triple A blockbuster but a solid product with allot of heart, made by fans for the fans of the Teminator Franchise.
I played this game on Steam first. Played for about 30 hours and gained every achievement, completed every side quest. I really enjoyed myself in the world scavenging for parts, scraps & money in the form of "trade materials". Rather than a tense or claustrophobic experience, most of the gameplay is set in the atmosphere of the Future War everyone saw in the first two Terminator movies, with the remainder consisting of indoors, usually close-quarters combat with enemy machines and Terminators.
The first thing you need to know is that the game is slow to start, so it'll take some time to settle in. If you're a big fan of Terminator, especially the first two films, this shouldn't be an issue because Teyon has filled the game with plenty of easter eggs from the first two movies, so you should really feel like you're in that Future War that served as the backdrop. The second thing you need to know is to not play at anything below Hard mode, if even that; I played at Extreme difficulty, and even that isn't too punishing if you know what you're doing. At that difficulty you can expect to be taken out by a T-800 in a matter of seconds after it sees you. If you're in a building with doors and you try to run behind one, it will break the door down and kill you. Lastly, you can maintain the difficulty by only spending skill points on what you need: if you avoid putting any in Stealth, Toughness, or Weapons, then the game will be at it's most challenging. Even then, you have a lot of options to arm yourself between finding guns and ammo on the map, finding items to craft into ammo or explosives, or use your sum of "trade resources" to buy anything you need are your home base.
This is very much a customizeable game experience save for your player character, given that he is a main character in the plot with a specific role. It's not up to modern FPS standards and leaves much to be desired, but it's nevertheless the most enjoyable Terminator experience in decades. Enjoy!
You cannot go wrong with this one. If you're worried about any influence from the recent films being present here you can put that worry to rest, you won't find any here.
Terminator: Resistance is rough around the edges. The voice acting and NPC animation is very basic, level design is linear, and combat is a little too easy to survive.
However, for the Terminator fan, Resistance is 100% worth playing. The developers have done their homework and display clear affection for the franchise. The atmosphere is engrossing. The soundtrack is spot on. The first time you encounter a Terminator during gameplay puts your heart in your throat, and taking on a HK tank with a canister bomb, ala Kyle Reese, will never get old. Everywhere you look in this game, you are rewarded with references both large and small to the movies.
It's a basic shooter with a lot of love put into it. If the Future War scenes from T1 and T2 got you as excited as they got me, you'll find a lot to enjoy about Terminator: Resistance.
