I waited long time for this.
Just played the first four federation missions. Works fine.
Graphics look great for such an old game.
Would bei nice if multiplayer over internet would work.
But cannot have everything.
Worth waiting for!
Sorry to read that a few other players have run into issues - I've not run into any show stoppers so far - however there are some very minor graphical glitches but not enough to put me off. I recommend not tabbing back to Windows during game play.
I loved this game years ago and playing it again is a nice nostalgia kick, I've played a few missions so far and it's certainly "of it's time" but great fun zooming in and watching the Work Bees construct space stations and wotnot
It's a pity that the concept art (from the original installation screens) was not preserved in some form
Just got this from GoG and its runs fine out of the box, not had any issues. I run windows 10 a widescreen and while the resolution is limited it still runs without issue. It just runs in the size of the resolution you see so you will have black bars on the side of the screen if you are running widescreen monitor.
One thing to note is that it seems to reset itself to the lowest resolution the first time you play and enter an actual mission. Just change back in options and it remains at that setting moving forward.
Game is as I remember it, great to hear all the voice actors again!
I changed the Resolution to "set by application" and Presentation mode to "fullscreen" and it ran. Of course, it ran in something like 640x480 in the menu. Then in-game go to Options -> Graphics and change the mode to whatever you want, e.g. 1600x1200. Yes, they are all 4:3. I didn't see the graphics mode change until I started the actual mission. Note, the cut scense are all in 640x480 it looks like.
Game play is the same as I remember. Anyone tried something like Hamachi yet to see if we can do LAN over the internet? Figure that's about the only way I'll ever get to play a game with my buddies now... stupid Covid.
