Simple yet brilliant

Puddle is a nice slick looking indy game. The premise is very simple: Get a certain kind liquid from point A to point B. The liquid itself can not be controlled, but you can manipulate the environments in such the way that the liquid will start to move. Then you will have to navigate is through a trajectory with all kinds of booby traps and physics based puzzles. It's a very nice and calming experience, and the soundtrack and colorful graphics just make this a little casual game that is worth every single penny

Not so easy

I thought it would be, but I was wrong. Sure, at first the game fairly simple and even though obtaining the gold medal for each level will take some time, it's still a pretty relaxing experience. But then comes the 2nd half of the game and things get really tedious. Not in all levels of course, but a lot of them. It becomes a game of trial and error, and you'll have to retry over and over until you know what to do to get past that particular puzzle.

Feels slow and tedious

I feel like I'm missing something with this game because I usually love liquid physics; like the Mercury games. But everything just feels so sluggish. The water feels like soup in low gravity, and it feels like you're spending 80% of your time waiting for momentum to pick up. And then half of your water gets left behind in some u-turn purely due to how the levels and water physics are designed x.x Like I said I may be doing something wrong but as far as liquid physics games this doesn't feel like the right way to do it.

Interesting idee, poor execution

Sure, the idea is neat, especially having different liquids. But the atrocious camera makes it almost impossible to actually know what's going on before it happens. Devolves quickly into trial and error gameplay. Also runs like crap - I know liquid physics are hard to do, but that kind of framerate drop makes this an even harder sell.

Such joy

Ever wanted to play a game where you don't control the character but you tilt the world? I've heard LocoRoco is good, play that instead. Welcome to a platformer(?) where you control liquid. Cry as your liquid disappears offscreen which you could do nothing about and thus lost forever. Weep as you fail the level right before the end due to this constantly happening. Isn't it fun when physics apply to your character(?) to such an extent that you don't feel like you have proper control? You would think so, but sadly when I actually played it I disagreed. There's quite a bit of content, game is fine until the latter half/third where the difficulty ramps up to ridiculous/annoying levels.
