In this 2D platformer, Horace is a robot with shoes that allow him to walk on walls and ceilings.
I did not expect much, with the retro visuals and all. Boy was I wrong.
This game has a lot of heart, humor, and also a good difficulty progression. The mechanics don't get repetitive, the story has unexpected turns, and the game has its share of secrets.
I have varied tastes in videogames and this is one of my favourites of 2019.
Highly recommended.
I enjoyed the game while playing, but it got to a point where I simply had to throw away the controller and give up on the game.
A lot of the game simply drags on you with time: the long-winded storytelling drags, the constant back-tracking drags, the extremely long and tedious levels drags, the puzzle-solving drags. Everything. Simply. Drags. By the emotional highpoint of the game that was clearly the end of the 2nd act, I didn't *feel* any sense of urgency to continue, I simply thought "damn it, more game".
Now this doesn't mean it's a *bad* game, however it fails to attain greatness simply due to how much you feel dragged along by the length of the game. If it was shorter I probably would've given it an 8, but I can only give it about a 6. I'd give it a 5, but I appreciate the creativeness in the game and the clear heart put into it.
Excellent level design, engrossing storytelling, british humour and fantastic minigames (drying the dishes is my favourite).
A game made with heart and it shows, no AAA title will ever come close to that...
It's so good I'll definitely be playing through it again to try to collect 1 million junk !!!
An absolute must-play for anyone who likes intelligent 2D platformers.
