Enypnion Redreamed

This game is a strange mix of child/dream/nightmare story and puzzles not always easy. As puzzles, you will find a puzzle inspired by IQ test, a puzzle using permutations, word play puzzles, a chess puzzle, a cyptic code puzzle, catching the right thing into the screen, and so on. Maybe, this game tries to talk to our childhood but with some not-so-eazy puzzles. Someone beginner in this kind of game can be often stuck. The dream ambient is well done. Sometimes the music is missing. And there's a little scare ;-) I finished it personally in less than five hours but if you are stuck it can take you more time to finish. It is devided into eigth levels and you can replay each level indepentenlty.

The childlike atmosphere, minimal plot, cute morals at the end and shallow dialogue makes it feel like a game designed to play with your children (which I respect). But then some of the puzzles are far too obtuse and poorly designed, to the point where an adult will still likely need a walkthrough to complete them. I also have a personal hatred of the art style especially in cut scenes, I respect that this looks like a 3 person developer team and am not expecting major cutscenes, but a crisp lineart comic book style approach to cut scenes would be a significant improvement over the morphed photoshop drawing style here. The atmosphere is overall well done, and several of the puzzles are quite educational and fun, so I look forward to seeing what the developers come up with next!

I bought this on offer so I struck lucky with this one. It's a lovely little game - almost childlike with some complex puzzles but not as difficult as some games I've played. Lovely scenery and music and no boring unnecessary bits. It could have been a bit longer and at full price I would have expected that but for what I paid I'm more than happy with it. I'll play it again when I've tested the other games I bought and would highly recommend it.

This is a pretty solid, if short, Point-and-Click Adventure. This all takes place in a dream, and though it's aimed at a younger audience, it's more whimsical than obnoxious and childish. There's a really interesting build to the story and its themes that's done so well... it makes the ending feel a little anticlimactic, but that's all I'll say about that. The environments are spectacular, as are a lot of the strange denizens you encounter; my personal favorite was the Queen of Clubs. Puzzles are mostly reasonable - a few are poorly explained - but it's never too overwhelming, because you're usually limited to a screen or two; no traversing a huge world with an uncooked chicken breast, a melon baller, and a charred portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wondering what on EARTH any of them will be used for. Overall, a worthy entry in the genre.
