Donut County

For this price I was expecting a bit more. First, as others have mentioned, it is quite short- I finished it in about 1.5 hrs. The bigger problem, though, is that there isn't much to the game-play. Each level has only a few items to collect, so there really isn't any challenge to figuring out what order to collect them in. It is also generally easy to collect all items in a level, so, even though you are given a score at the end of each level, it doesn't mean much. The only real game-play is the occasional puzzles that show up in later levels. On the plus side, I enjoyed the characters and the dialogue, and the art was nice. The game was a positive experience overall, but there just wasn't enough to it.

I played the game in one sitting with my girlfriend and we had a wonderful time. We had a smile on our faces the whole time and the game managed to make us laugh out loud a few times. We were also pretty engrossed in the story which I didn't really expect when I started it. We really wanted to know what would happen to BK and his friends as well as the town of Donut County. While the game is quite short I think it is actually one of its greatest strenght, it took us about 2 and a half hours to beat it and I think this is just the right ammount for a game like this, it makes it so that the gameplay doesn't become stale or repetitive and gave us enough time to buy into the story and get attached to characters. Visually the game is absolutely lovely, the character models look really good and the animations are cute. BK is the most adorable racoon I've ever seen. I want a racoon now ! Now as far as gameplay goes it is extremely simple and each level plays more or less the same way, you make your little hole appear and start eating stuff to make it grow. Some levels do require some thinking and have cool little puzzles. All in all I think this is a wonderful game and I'd recommend it to pretty much anyone, the price entry may seem steep but I think 15 dollars is well worth it for 2 and a half hours of fun and jolliness !

Usually I only buy heavily discounted games but as DC looked so cute I opened up my wallet and let the moths out. DC has one gimmick - the hole - and the length of the game is about right due to this; any longer (under 2 hours) and it would feel stretched. There is something really enjoyable about swallowing things. All the puzzles are really basic so no brain-strain. The game is entirely mouse-driven (sometimes you even left click!) The dialogue (text only) is a simple back and forth between characters and I found mildly amusing. Personally I won't pay full price - but remember the aforementioned moths. Worth wishlisting and getting it on sale.

Total garbage! (literally ;) Surprisingly fun game with a fun story and characters... very short, but........ sweet as a dozen donuts! Some fun achievements to go for as well... all in all a solid experience from start to finish. Can easily play the entire game in one sitting. Soundtrack stinks too!!!
