Description

Deadly efficient. Highly skillful. Invisible to indifferent citizens. They fight the greedy corporations that have entire nations under their thumb. Suits scornfully called them Scavengers.

It was they who first noticed that the situation turned around. And it's the artificial intelligence A.I.O.N.E., who took over the control causing the machines to revolt against their masters.

The time has come. Step out of the shadow to face this new enemy in open battle.
Soon A.I. will have to learn how dangerous the Scavengers are.

Evil corporations together with dystopian cyberpunk setting bring doom upon the world. A group of outcasts - Scavengers - once rejected by fate, now glorified and admired decide to overcome the status quo... and of course, loot some great treasures on their way and return to their hideout with a bag full of great treasures... or broken scrap.

You'll crawl higher than ever before.

Danger Scavenger is an intense cyberpunk-themed roguelite skyline crawler which takes you to the roofs of the breathtaking cyberpunk city, where you will face mighty enemies controlled by soulless AI.

Forget about crawling through the dungeons, caves and darkest pits of hell in search for adventures and treasures. The world has changed and new times are coming. You'll be going up and out of the underground to seek new horizons and possibilities.

Become one of the outcasts and set out on a risky hunt in search of liberation and countless riches hidden in huge skyscrapers. The danger is so great that every Scavenger can change history forever... or become another forgotten scrap hunter. Choose your path wisely - big rewards mean even bigger risks!

  • Dynamic risk-reward gameplay: choose your path wisely, face the challenges, and become the hero you always wanted to be! Or... pick the easy way and return with nothing.

  • 4 unique Scavengers (and more will come) to choose from - each one has its skills and style of fixing problems of the world: stealth, strategy, rapid-fire action or maybe a mix of them? You decide!

  • Team with up to 4 Scavengers to kick the corporation's ass in cooperation mode

  • Defeat 5 greedy corporations. Face 30+ types of enemies, their special versions, and bosses. Choose from a large selection of 30+ various weapons, active and passive 50+ items/upgrades to buy or loot.

  • Unexpected item combinations that you'll discover during your adventures. Just like no two snowflakes are the same, you can never get the same build twice. Design your perfect strategy by many trials and errors, followed by many deaths, of course.

  • You'll crawl higher than ever before - Skyline Crawler takes you to the roofs of the breathtaking cyberpunk city, where you will face mighty controlled by soulless AI.

Good game with a few flaws

This game is basically a Bullet Hell game with isometirc view. You chose a charater (only one to chose in the beginning) and run around, trying not to get hit. Each tower represents a level and on the way to the top of the tower you get to choose which path to take, with some mandatory fights. Similar to Invisible Inc you get Xp with each run, which unlocks ohter characters or different weapons. The difficulty depends on the items you get each level, and wich you can buy. There are a few flaws to this game though. * While it's fun, the levels become repetitive. * For my tase, the towers are to long. Didn't count the level per tower, but I guess it's about 15 - 20 levels. And yout can't save before, druing, of after the levels. The only way to save your progress is to complete a tower. * If you die you loose evertyything except the unlocks. That can be a bit frustating is you lose at the third tower or so. You don't get to keep your collected items on death. * Minor flaw, but you cannot see what you unlocked. You only geht the message when you unlock and then the information is lost forever. * Aslo minor flaw: Crafting is not explained, so you have a bit of trial and error. But that's not to big of a problem. You gonna lose your items anyway, when you die :) But besides that, the game is still fun (as mentioned before)

Visible problems, but they have a future

Danger Scavenger, in my opinion, can be thought of as an "Enter the Gungeon", but with its own particularities. It is a roguelike + roguelite. You choose the style, and that's wonderful. If you choose the roguelike style, you will lose everything after you die; if you choose roguelite, you will keep your items, money, upgrades and other elements from your previous progression. The object of the game is to beat a series of floors in a skyscraper, and defeat the boss at the top. As you complete this task, you move on to a new skyscraper, with new enemies, new scenarios and new bosses. The isometric view matches very well with the 3D scenarios, and the soundtrack resembles quite another game with a similar atmosphere: Axiom Verge. It is very well executed and effective for immersion. Regarding the controls, the keyboard + mouse are unbeatable. The Xbox One controller works well, but does not allow the same precision and agility as the other option mentioned. What really bothered me is the still low number of items and weapons available. In addition, the crafting system is a bit confusing, and would deserve a quick tutorial. Like any game of its kind, it can become a bit repetitive as you progress, so I also think it's important that the floors are better explored by the developers. The customization option is a fundamental point of games like this, and needs to be expanded. An online mode would also be welcome. It would bring greater longevity and possibilities We must remember, however, a crucial point: it is a game in development, with only three weeks since its launch for the consumer. That is why I cannot be radical with the analysis, not least because it has been receiving weekly updates. The price is right, and worth the purchase for those who enjoy games of the genre. I would give three stars, but I am confident in the potential of this title, so for now, four stars will be my rating.

Atmospheric Twinstick with good Balance

The game was just released, so i want to write a little bit about the "final" version. Unlike stated in the older reviews, the game is not as repetetive anymore. It has 5 Towers each with a completely different Look & Feel and Color Palette. The "Layout" of each stage is quite identical each time tough; the developers could have made a _little_ bit more Variation instead of just randomly aligning hexagons for each stage, but in my personal opinion it is still "ok" enough. The balance of the game has also improved a lot since the Early Access Version. It was a little bit to hard; now it is just right. While you easily will do the first Tower at first try and maybe even the second Tower, it starts to get interesting at the Third. The Difficulty raises at a linear scale and is always fair. I always played in a coop session which now works flawless. Only the "crafting dialog" is not good, it is too cumbersome to always find the correct button, but you only craft max 5% of the gaming time, mostly you are in action. The music is good, altough a little repetive since you always have the same three, four melodies. Maybe the developers could raise the tracks a little bit in the future for free ? There are a lot of different weapons all with pro&cons, many items, even "daemon" items (get a HUGE buff but be nerfed for the next two floors, for example). You should not compare it to Hades/Curse of the Gods, they are a different Subgenre of roguelikes in my opinion. This one stands alone. Oh and is there any other Sci-fi/Cyberpunk Roguelike like this out there? I know none. Summary: When you enjoy twin-stick shooters and want to do couch coop this game is GREAT and i enjoyed many hours with my gaming partners. When going solo, dont except too much hours of gameplay. But hey - this game is really cheap for the content you get, even at full price ! So support the devs, get this game !

An enjoyable time killer and time sink

I work in a creative field where I deal with new stuff and have to solve new issues every day and this game is a perfect way for me to unwind and clear my mind after finishing a task or reaching a milestone. And when I first got it I played it for the whole the weekend, so it's a good time sink as well. It's basically an isometric-like rogue-lite bullet hell, and while I don't particularly care for either bullet hells or rogue-likes/lites, this game combines these elementes into something that I quite enoy. And while it offers a hardcore mode, I don't ever play those and only consider the normal mode: - Normal mode is a rogue-lite in that each run is randomly generated, but you keep some or all collected items (all if you survive, some if you die) and you have a base where you can sell, or upgrade and use the items later when you want or need. Also, your "money" balance is persistent between runs. - While the combat is straightforward and doesn't require much thinking, it does reward you more for creative kills. - There are 5 different "towers" with and increasing number of floors. After finihsing a floor, which usually takes under a minute, you can usually select your next stage from two options, and there are multiple floor types. - At the top of the tower you face a boss whose weapons/abilities depend on what stages you selected in the particular tower. A tower can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on how you play. - After each tower, you get back to your base where you can save your game and prepare for the next tower. - You loot items and weapons from chests and bosses. You can also buy items and weapons that are unlocked based on your overall accumulated score. There are tons of weapons, passive items and skill granting items, all upgradeable. - The characters differ mainly in their max health, starting weapon options and the movement ability they use. - Great music. - Simple options and a visual style that is simple and clear.

Nice little game, much fun to play

Very nice arcade like shoot em up, twin stick game. Combat is quite easy and although it has some balancing issues (one easily can craft overpowered weapons and items), it is very easy and rewarding to play. Not much of a story, but who cares when the soundtrack it pleasing, the visuals are really nice and it runs seamlessly on a Sterm Deck. I finished the game with all characters on arcade mode and can recommend it at its price of about 8 Euros, mine were well invested.
