Creaks

Amanita is known for classic point-and-click adventures, but the decision to make Creaks a puzzle platformer really, really paid off. Each level is a masterclass on great puzzle design, from the introduction of mechanics to the difficulty curve. And on top of that, the eerie artstyle is stunning to behold, balanced well by the more light-hearted story. And the music! Each level's music gets enhanced slightly as you progress through each puzzle. Creaks is really something special. As soon as I finished it on Apple Arcade, I bought it here for full price. Good art is worth it.

I honestly don't know what to say when I review games from Amanita design, because every single game they release is better than the last. This game plays very similarly to titles like 'Machinarium' and 'In The Shadows', and offers a very unique storyline, incredible artwork and a captivating soundtrack. I'm roughly 4-5 hours in, and I hear that there's still another 5+ hours left. It's honestly well worth the price If you're a fan of point and click puzzle/adventure games. I'm sure you will absolutely love this game!

I've been stalking this game ever since it got announced years ago and finally I've played it to completion. Amanita's trademark style is as endearing as ever, with a creepier slant but still full of charm. The only thing I can fault this game is that I was hoping it would be more of a point and click adventure game rather than the puzzle platformer that it is, but it would be unfair of me to dock points just for that.

Lovely hand-drawn graphics, well-balanced puzzles, gradual introduction of new features, and a story that fully unloads its emotions at the end. What's there not to like? This is a great puzzle platformer, somewhat deviating from Amanita's usual style while still being familiar. I cannot stress enough how beautiful the graphics are, a screenshot doesn't do them justice. The soundtrack also has the usual Amanita quality and is well worth purchasing through the Collector's Edition. All in all, we had a lot of fun during the approximately 6-7 hours of playing this, and we especially liked finding the hidding paintings that explain some of the history of the creatures.
