I came into this game with no expectations. I saw it had left indev, and decided to give it a try. To put it bluntly, it feels very incomplete. The game has a pretty artstyle. But if I want an artsty game, there are so many others to pick. It feels lifeless, with how still many elements are. Trees don't move, and there are walkers, but they don't do anything. The UI is very poorly designed. The entire game is about resource management, but most of the UX is unintuitive, obstructive, and generally very slow. The entire game is based around providing access, and you'd think it'd be logical that most things would rotate automatically to snap together. They don't. You instead have to learn how to rotate blocks in a hamhanded tutorial that I ducked out of, because I had learned enough about the game to know how it worked, and wasn't interested in further pork for dinner. Buildings themselves feel very lifeless and colorless, but I feel that has to do with the hamhanded messages it is trying to send. While trying to meet the needs of the blocks and resources, you may notice a fatal flaw of the simulation. Blocks only decay when there is a LACK of a resource. Nothing happens if you have too many acorns or sewage.
