Being a DIK: Season 3 will continue the story and be released and sold separately as DLC.
The game graphically depicts sex, usage of drugs and violence. The story is not intended for players being in a dark period of their lives. If you are easily offended or just looking for a fun game only, this game is not for you.
First, it's unfortunate that some people feel like they have to give a bad review "Just because they are unhappy with GOG". Dr Pinkcake is doing an amazing job doing this game alone and people trying to undermine his work just because they don't like this kind of game need to find something more useful to do.
About the game: I didn't know a lot about AVN/VN before trying Being a Dik 2 months ago. Let me say that I didn't regret one second of this experience. Because it will be an experience if you decide to give it a chance. I watch a lot of TV Shows and Movies, and this game was able to keep me captivated and immersed in the universe as much as some AAA products.
When people read AVN games, they probably think "sex games", but let me assure you that this game deserve to have VISUAL NOVEL in capital letters, because you could remove all the NSFW part of the game and still enjoy it.
Yes, there is sex in this vn/game, but if you can put aside your imature high school boy for a little while you will find that where season 1 gave us a introduction to College life with parties and sex, season 2 takes us deeper into the history, giving us a even more engaging story where all choices have consequenses. You will experience a rich gallery of people you would expect to meet attending a college; from jocks and bimbos to the serious nerds. And ofcource all between.
Not to mention this game still have Derek in it!
I own this game on GOG and Patreon and have now started my fourth playthrough, this time on GOG. And, I love the story! Recommened to all that loves a rich and engaging story about college, friends, family and love! Because if its only sex you are looking for, you will most likely end up with Arieth in the game, and very possibly with crabs! :)
Some other thoughs: graphic is great but the best is the music which is more than hundred songs that fits perfectly with the game.
I rate the game 5 STARS! No doubt!
PS: I would set review to "verified owners rating". Too many idiots who do not know what they speak about bashes the game without knowing the game rates it. Just read many of the 1 stars revew to confirm this...
To think something like this is not really an AAA title or a full price of a new game title is so unbelievable. I've played some visual novels in the past, and always for the story... some included adult content, some did not. That said, this is a genre I rarely play because... well, there aren't that many captivating titles in the genre. Either the story gets too dragged or everything feels too repetitive and one can easily lose interest.
Some of my favorite games are games like Alan Wake or The Wolf Among Us, or Witcher 3 or King's Bounty. To think I could consider a visual novel to rival such level of amazement in my eyes is... well, hardly believable. But this game does it, and it does it well on every possible level. And the best thing in it is the script. It connects you to the characters, and it makes any romantic scene memorable (adult scenes are more too add to realism, kind of like in Witcher 3 or Mass Effect, but without censoring or shying away).
Triss Merigold was the best thing that ever happened to Witcher series. I don't care about the linear story in the books or how Geralt and Yen are supposed to be the item. CDProject Red did awesome job in letting us choose based on our feelings and actions rather than leading us down a single path like watching a movie. Mass Effect did the same thing where you had to create relationship slowly and actions and choices had consequences. Being a DIK, aside from its title which initially made me think it's some silly porn game until I gave it a try. I started with Acting Lessons which indeed was darker, but has very good story. This game is more light-hearted and can be very comical at times, extremely romantic (romantic, not porn-ish), and doesn't shy away from showing all sorts of characters you'd expect to see in a place of its settings. This is an emotional rollercoaster which adult VNs don't often provide. And it can make you laugh out loud at its jokes. But because it's adult-themed, it's not for kids.
Its a nice continue for the main story; as someone who reads a lot of different genres of books i cant say that this is an ultra master piece, but its a reaally good history that deserves their opportunitie, very good pucharse, really nice Visual Novel, i highly recomend this season and the game in general.
(Obviously recommended from someone what indeed BUY and PLAY the game).
9/10
Nice with adding this games GoG.
:D
I just posted on the original and came to again post for the second season. Goes much further in depth, opens up new relationship possibilities and really holds you accountable to actions you took in the first game, for better or worse. If you read only the people that have played the game, everyone thinks the story telling, character development, choices, consequences are excellent. I am already waiting for the third season to drop. For the people who want to complain about the game and it being a cash grab, play it first before judging or posting. Not sure why you are so upset over nudity and sex in the game. This isn't some conservative gaming website and there are plenty of games involving extreme violence, drugs, murders etc that have been on gog for years and could be considered just as morally reprehensible. If you don't like it, don't review it. It is as simple as that.
