Another same thing

Another Lost Phone is a classical example of the "more of the same" approach, you won't find anything new here that wasn't already in A Normal Lost Phone. So again, the music's nice, the story's okay-ish and the gameplay is nonexistent.

Still interesting, but felt dumbed down

I mostly stand by what I said for the original: I think this is an interesting way of telling a believable story with a bit of detective work. Not that strong gameplay-wise, but the form aids with understanding the protagonist's point of view. Compared to the original, the interface is a bit improved (e.g. there is at least some quick switching between apps), but the story feels more straight-forward and the characters and information are rather flat / direct. Having played the original, some of the clues felt very obvious. This time I did not feel overwhelmed with information, but for me that was part of the fun… Topic wise, I think more people may be able to connect with Laura than with Sam in the original, even though it wasn't so "close to home" for me. Still, I am glad I played the game, I think it was worth it (at least in the discount).

Less Enjoyable Than The Original

I enjoyed A Normal Lost Phone so I figured Another Lost Phone would be something I was sure to like but I just couldn’t come to enjoy it as much as the original. The story was better and the game play mechanics were much the same but the sequel managed to make the game more tiresome and convoluted in how you complete the objectives. In the original you had to figure out what info you needed and then go searching for that info. In the sequel you had to usually find multiple pieces of info and sometimes perform some math to figure things out. My issue was that finding these pieces of info seemed to be far less clear as well as having to juggle matching multiple peoples info to faces. Also there was one puzzle where once you were given the hint to it the process became very clear however you weren’t given the hint until you entered the wrong password once. I am not one to just enter things wildly and was trying to figure out what it wanted from me for longer than I had to just because the hint wasn’t given outright. Another time I needed to find an email but the email wasn’t going to show up until I read two specific SMS messages and two Notes. Well I did just that and the email still didn’t show up. It took me reading them three times before the email arrived. A look online at walkthroughs after showed many people had the same issue. One last gripe was I really wish I could have used the arrow keys to scroll down SMS or email messages or even drag the side bar down because using the mouse wheel was a very slow process for some of them. I played Another Lost Phone on Linux. It never crashed and I didn’t notice any spelling errors. There was just resolution and one graphics setting so nothing much to tweak. The game saves every time you exit the game but you can't save manually and can’t have multiple saves.

Even better than the first one!

"Another Lost Phone" is a bit longer than the first one - and therefore with more apps to explore, which is very cool. The soundtrack is pleasant and we can leave it playing while we explore the phone (we can do that in the first one, too). The puzzles are slightly easier to solve, too, which makes the "chill experience" even more chill. I liked Laura's story even more than Sam's, cause it's more "close to home" in my case. And well, it's not "propaganda" (as incels loooove to say), but an attention call for this topic for it to have the protagonism it needs. And to be inserted with normality in the universe of games. Way to go, Accidental Queens / Plug In Digital! Make some more, pleeease! :)

Waste of a platform

Here they have a chance to bring awareness to more diverse under represented victims. And they don't they follow the standard familiar narrative.
