I bought the Zork Anthology recently (Zork I, Zork II, Zork III, Beyond Zork, Zork Zero, and Planetfall). However on wikipedia it says Beyond Zork: The Coconut of Quendor comprises, along with the original triliogy and Zork Zero, The Zork Anthology. So why is Beyond Zork: The Coconut of Quendor missing. Also, what of the Enchanter trilogy and Zork Quest series?

Oops my bad Beyond Zork: The Coconut of Quendor icon was put in a gap n my desktop icons -.-.

No word on these yet. I'd like to see them released.

Here's some wishlist entries to vote on if you want them. Unfortunately, they have few votes.
The Enchanter Series
Enchanter
Sorcerer
Spellbreaker
Wishbringer
Zork Quest: The Crystal Of Doom
Zork Quest: Assault on Egreth Castle
Zork: The Undiscovered Underground

Thanks for the reply, km3k., I'll check out the games you listed.
While Zork 1-3 were never released freeware despite internet rumours, Zork: The Undiscovered Underground definitely was released for free. I wouldn't mind it as a GOG freebie or as a bonus on the Zork Anthology, but there's really no reason not to grab an interpreter and play the game right now!
They should just sell the Infocom Masterpieces collection it has nearly every infocom game ever released.
Activision in Dec 2012 released "Lost Treasures of Infocom" (almost all Infocom games) for iPad/iPhone, I wonder if they could release it also for WinPC.

They did, well DOS and MAC anyway there was two volumes now granted there were a few games missing such as Leather Goddesses of Phobos but it was the majority of the Infocom catalog.

I had my copy until a few years ago when the discs finally went bad. Would be nice to see the rest of the infocom lineup here well save for the licensed ones like Hitchhicker's guide to the galaxy

Yeah for the hell of it I made a site request for GOG to bring more infocom games, just curious to see if it gets marked as "in progress" or not

It would be nice if they would release it here for $9.99 (the same price as the whole set costs on iPhone). I would buy it despite having already bought the Zork set. Of course knowing GOG, they will charge Zork owners $4.00 which is the difference between the price of the Zork set and LTOI. GOG always likes to give us good deals.

Actually, Zork I-III were temporarily released for free by Activision to promote ZGI both on the Internet and on various promo CDs packaged with game magazines much in the way EA has released Ultima IV for free to promote other Ultima products. The Zorks were only downloadable from Activision's site at that time. Activision has also allowed the iPhone program Frotz to run the Zork games as a promotion for the Lost Treasures set.

Other games such as Red Baron and Betrayal at Krondor have seen limited free release by the publishers to promote other products. The strangest of these was Betrayal at Krondor. I have the game not from a computer store, but from having the CD bound into the hardcover novel of the first game. It's a great game, and a good read as well.

So it's true the Zorks were never released as unlimited freeware but as exclusive free products. It's pretty much the same as the Ultima free games (IV and the Worlds) which are free to download but are exclusively licensed by the publisher to GOG.
