Now that GOG supports Linux, let's show them that we'd like to play Zork on Linux too! GOG's Zork games should work just as well on Linux as on Windows since they all run on software like DosBox and ZEngine. I made some wishlist entries to support this:

The Zork Anthology (Linux)
Return to Zork (Linux)
Zork Nemesis (Linux)
Zork Grand Inquisitor (Linux)

Actually, you don't need Dosemu to play any of those games except maybe Zork Zero. You should run an improved Z-code interpreter natively instead. Frotz works for everything in Zork Anthology except Zork Zero, because Unix Frotz runs on a terminal and does not do graphics. Frotz has line editing and multi-move undo, which none of the original interpreters had (some of the later ones had single move undo). The Dos and Windows versions of Frotz support graphics (Z-machine version 6), so you can use either of those (with Dosbox of Wine) to play Zork Zero. However, surfing around a bit I found ZMPP, which is written in Java, claims to support all Z-machine versions, have command line editing and multiple undo. Haven't tried it myself though.

If you are into interactive fiction (text adventures), you should post a wish that GOG get Masterpieces of Infocom, which contains most of the Infocom text adventures, about thirty games. Got those on CD myself.

Return to Zork runs fine on ScummVM.

I totally agree, but GOG uses Dosbox for their WIndows version of the Zork Anthology, so I recommended they use that again to make it simpler for them to get the games out there. Also, Zork Zero works great in Gargoyle, so Dosbox isn't needed there either.

There's a number of wishlist items for other Infocom games too. You can find them at http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=infocom
