Any Linux users out there? I am trying to find a good modern Z-machine interpreter for Linux. Frotz works nicely, but is a console app so it has a monospace font and doesn't work properly for the graphical games (Beyond Zork and Zork Zero). Gargoyle looks beautiful, but again, doesn't display the graphics properly (in fact, it crashed on Beyond Zork for me).

Does anyone know of a good quality interpreter for Linux which can handle the Beyond Zork and Zork Zero graphics well?

I do not know much about the arcane ways of Linux but maybe this link will be able to help you: http://www.ifarchive.org/indexes/if-archiveXinfocomXinterpreters.html You'll likely have to look around because the entries are classed either by target platform or source interpreter. Likewise all the various ports of Frotz, some of them more developped than others, can be found there: http://www.ifarchive.org/indexes/if-archiveXinfocomXinterpretersXfrotz.html

I'm on Windows 7 and I basically use two interpreters: Gargoyle for my regular use and Windows Frotz for the graphical Z-code 6 or the special case of Beyond Zork.

Edit: I just remembered hearing good things about Zoom but I have no idea of what it's worth or how it looks like.
