Apparantly Steam doesn't have any issues with updating the game to the latest version.

skeletonbow: The Galaxy installed version of this game is broken for 1.65 presently. I've filed the above mantis bug report and a support ticket to get GOG folk on to fixing it. In the mean time use the standalone installer as it works fine.
