Hi there,

I recently installed X Rebirth on my Ubuntu 16.04 setup, and just like my OS, the game is in French. However, I would like to play it in English. Browsing the web taught me that I should change the language value in this file :

/home/user/GOG Games/X Rebirth/game/lang.dat
from 33 (French) to 44 (English)

Having done that, the interface, menus, texts are indeed in English, but not the voices. Repeating the same operation with the voicelang.dat file in the same folder didn't help, as it just mute all the voices. So my question is : has anyone performed a successfully total language change in this game? And how?

Thank's in advance.

Alright, I finally found a way to change the game's language, including the voices. Long story short:
- I went to the /home/user/GOG Games/X Rebirth/languages directory
- Renamed the French folder (as it is the default language) into something else, just for back-up
- Copied/pasted the English folder (the language I want to play in) and rename it "French"

Doing this make the game approximately 800 MB bigger (but who cares with today's HDD), and fully in English. It is no use to edit the lang.dat and voicelang.dat as it doesn't work (see first post), nor to create new links to these files in the English folder, as the game resets the links each launch. I'm not sure I'm clear, but anyway.

PS: how do you mark a topic as solved?

Unfortunate you can not mark your own posts as solved as far as I know, but on any other post you can mark it as solution ;)
