Hallo. Gibt es zum grossen Update 5 nur die kompletten Installationsdateien oder könnt ihr nicht einfach eine Patch-Datei bereitstellen ? Dann muss ich nicht alles komplett runterladen und das gesamte Spiel samt dlcs neu installieren. Nein, ich will gog galaxy nicht nutzen.

If you use Windows, there is a patch but for Linux we never get patches. Good thing the game is not too big.

Have they fixed the damn base game yet or just shovelwared out a dlc.

I did not try it yet but the changelog looks promising.

There is a hotfix already.

klauki123 was asking for a patch without using GOG Galaxy and i also can't find any when looking at my library by using a browser.
The following is shown (without owning X4: Tides of Avarice)

Game Library / X4: Foundations / Downloads:

X4: Foundations (Part 1 to 5) - 5.00 Hotfix 2
X4: Cradle of Humanity (Part 1 to 2) - 5.00 Hotfix 2
X4: Split Vendetta (Part 1 to 2) - 5.00 Hotfix 2

These are all full installation files (same if i switch system to Linux, except there's only one file for the base game and each DLC), but no patch is showing up - though I would be able to patch the game within GOG Galaxy. Unfortunately klauki123 don't want to use it ;)

So where did you see the patch file?

GOG offline installers are usually broken UNLESS you set the language to English, so also this time around, as it has been several times with this game already. Same as the updates for this game never gives a flag. GOG needs to fix this one way or another. Feel free to report the problems to GOG's support.

In short, the patches are there if you set GOG to English.

I've just checked all the other languages and "english" is indeed the ONLY one showing the patch-files.

This throws up another question (even if you're on LINUX and don't get the patch-file anyway):
Is the offline-installer and the patch-installer the same for all languages or does it cause issues if you use the (english) patch on a e.g. german/spain/french installation of the game?
Or is it different with any other game?

I honestly do not know but PC Gaming Wiki and Egosoft's websites tell you how you can make the game use different languages. Try that and you will immediately run into problems if you need to download language files. Good luck!
