A small PSA for getting some Secured Containers without shopping around for them:

1) You need to have a Venture platform built.
2) Purchase a Fighter.
3) Send out the Fighter on the 1 hour or 8 hour Fighter ventures.

Why this instead of that 20 or 64 hour Trader venture? Well, while this venture doesn't reward a lot of credits, it does reward a lot of inventory items (10-15 inventory items) and mod components. Of the last 4 successful ventures (three 1 hour ventures and one 8 hour venture) I've sent my fighter out on, it has returned 9 Secured Containers.

Ventures run when you are not online as well, so when you stop for the night, send out a Fighter on the 8 hour venture and it could return with some easy Secured Containers. Optionally, pop on, send the venture out, log off and play something else, etc. - Rinse and repeat. The shorter one hour ventures are good to run several times in one game session since you're usually busy doing other things and they need no real input from you and have a pretty good audio alert for when they finish.

Other good things they bring back from the venture are Burnite Crystals which sell for 125,000 credits each which can recoup the cost of most fighter purchases in the event you lose a ship on the venture. I've also gotten all the crafting materials for the SETA from ventures, no need to hunt down anything. Additionally, you can get some security bypasses for making factories drop their cargo so you can scoop up some of that over priced Claytronics instead of wasting millions of credits on it.

Have fun!

Stuff ventures! No need for pseudo-multi-player in a single player game.

Nice to inform though.
There is a mod that lets you send ships off on ventures without connecting to Egosoft's servers.

I was hoping they'd do more with ventures. They did have a survey they sent out for everyone who was registered on the Egosoft forums; One of the three picks from their short list was cooperative ventures for other players. So if that gets into the next major update, I'll be happy to start sending goods and ships to friends. Although, I imagine it will be not that broken.

I'll keep that in mind and update the PSA with the Nexus link.
