I've noticed that X3: Reunion is showing the wrong portraits whenever the player has to talk with ships or a station. It will first show the normal portrait at the top-right, but then will randomly flash to a completely unrelated portrait every time. It's very distracting and it does this over and over with every ship and station. I'm using X3: Reunion v2.5 (GOG version 2.0.0.2) and running Windows 7 64-bit. Is there any way to fix this bug?

I had this problem when I played it a couple of years ago. I honestly can't remember if I fixed it by installing a different video codec, or if I just ignored it - sorry. Try the CCCP.

After you've been playing for a while you kind of switch off to those things anyway.

Do you remember what video codec that X3 uses?
Is long time that I'm not played with X3R, but as far that i remember, most problems come when ffmpeg is installed in the system.

So does that mean I have to somehow reinstall ffmpeg on a Windows system? Or does ffmpeg have to be uninstalled entirely?
Sorry, my fault, I like to say ffdhow, not ffmpeg.

If you have installed ffdshow, you need to uninstall it, since sometimes it enter in conflict with the X games.

I checked DxDiag on Win7 but it doesn't show ffshow. Does that mean that there's no other way to fix this video problem?
