So yeah I found a copy of a short OVA based on Wizardry 1: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord. It's not the best thing ever even by Anime standards but it's definitely better than some of the stuff that was made over in Japan based on the Ultima series like Ultima: the Fall of Magincia and Exodus Mangas(check the translations of those out if you want a good laugh)

Wow, that was awesome. I knew that Wizardry is very popular in Japan (they're STILL making games in the franchise over there), but I never knew about this. Thank you so much for sharing!

No problem and I'm not surprised you never heard of it I'm still trying to brush up on all the crazy Wizardry and Ultima related stuff that was made in Japan the OVA's, The Novels, The Manga and all that just out of curiosity.

I was actually surprised that the OVA uploaded somewhere and having given it a watch again it was pretty good especially when one considers the source material, as much as I love the Wizardry series even the early titles I didn't think Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord would translate that well into a 50 minute animate movie, I mean it's go explore a dungeon, get to floor 4 then get tasked to go to floor 10 and kill the wizard and get the amulet.
