The disk error is due to the way DOSBox is set up. If you really want to, you can change the config file to add an extra mount line (with -t floppy) and use that, but it's much easier to just leave everything in the base Wizardry 6 folder (leave the savegame drive blank).
Alternatively, you can set up a subfolder in the base Wizardry 6 folder named "saves" or something, as that can make your life easier if you make a lot of backups. In that case, change the savegame drive to "\saves\" and it'll put the savegame.dbs there.
but it will still only use 'savegame.dbs' the program itself will not make multiple saves
