Hello, first time posting. I installed wiz 8 through gog galaxy and cant seem to get the game to work.
ive ran 3dsetup and nglide config, running as administrator and compatibility mode for xp(2)(3) and
windows 7 with no luck, when i run wizardry 8 it pops up in task manager for about 1 second then disappears
so i assume that means it crashes? any advice is greatly appreciated
system specs are
windows 10 pro version 1903/18362.778
i9-9900k
gtx 1080
1tb ssd
32GB ddr4

Hello. I've been having this problem myself for some time now; it seems to be coming a fairly common problem with people running this game on Windows 10. I've tried a number of the different techniques below and none of them worked for me, but you may have better luck.

1. Delete the movies inside the "Flics" folder inside the "Data" folder.

2. Follow the instructions in this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216229528

3. Move the Wizardry 8 folder from wherever you have it to the C:/ drive and rename the name folder Wiz8

Best of luck to you.

your solution and this guide worked, thank you so much for your help!! :D
p.s. to anyone else who might have this problem turn off virtual super resolution, your resolution must be the same as the games or it will still crash

Glad to hear that my solutions actually worked.
On the off chance I missed this the first time around, where is the option for virtual super resolution, again? I don't remember seeing it when I went through the 3D setup and OpenGl option menus.
