With original you can use Grid Cartographer with the game to map your movements.
Will something like this be included?

It already does.

* There is a minimap on the HUD that shows where you are.
* If you cast DUMAPIC, you can view the floor map.
* Both of these can be (separately) disabled in the options, if you'd prefer the original experience.

Sadly, each time you leave, the map is wiped.

I hope that eventually is saved so I know what parts I've already explored.
