I bought WC4 DVD version, but unlike my old 6CD version, obviously is imperfect. First - very silent sound in videos (solved with AC3filter), then no sublines in custcenes (is it even solvable?), and now this:

I'm using widescreen monitor. My woking resolution is 960x600. Cutscenes are working fine, but the gameplay is squished (black bars on sides). Setting the resolution to any other non-widescreen solves this, but only if this will be done before running the game (and set back to 960x600 after quitting the game - both times manually!) Is it possible to force the game to automatically run in different resulotion than Windows during launch? In compatibility settings, it is possible to force only 640x480. Unfortunately, the game does not have separate resolution settings.

This problem does not happen in WC3 from GOG and WC4 6CD version.

I would like to have this problem solved, because ths could help me with another game (Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup). Although that rogulelike game does not have any problems like that, running it in higher resolution could fit more information on screen.
